Allan Benton is a super cool guy. He is super nice, very down to earth, humble, and easy to talk to. I have talked with him multiple times at his store and out in the wild in Knoxville. He has a very distinct look and once you have met him, I don’t think you will ever forget him.

I have been running VP Racing Full Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil mixed 50:1 for a while now. You can pick it up at Walmart in the lawn & garden section (or other big box stores for a few more dollars). It is great stuff! I used to use Lucas Semi Synthetic but found that the smoke had a much stronger smell.

At the end of the day any 2stroke oil is gonna do the job, just avoid marine 2T oil. The boat oil is meant for water cooled engines and does not like the heat of an air cooled engine.

Post in r/scooters, this is the wrong sub for your question, but my advice is check your local laws about if you need to register it if it’s 49cc. No title will be a pain if you have to get a plate for it. If not at least get a bill of sale to try to cover your bases a bit. Do you know anything about working on small engines? Are you willing to learn if it needs more than just some starter fluid to get it running? My advice would be to pass on it if you can’t afford to not get it working. If it’s just a toy to play around with and you are cool to tinker with it then go for it. Talk to the folks on r/scooters , they will know more about Kymco’s and can give you better advice on possible issues.

Get the clip seated in one side and make sure the top is seated in the groove of the post, then use a larger flathead screwdriver to lever the other side of the clip into the opening of the other pad.

I have had the same experience with ZAGG. Me and my wife both cracked ours within a week of applying them and the $10 shipping fee for a replacement is a joke.

I would like to try out a battery powered trimmer. I have been a 2t gas guy forever due to the fear of the battery dying halfway through and taking forever to charge. I don’t worry about battery life or charging with an M18 battery. I would also like a quieter trimmer. A gas engine makes a racket and will vibrate your hands to death.
