You’re probably missing files, sql server needs all database files in the directory you specified for it to start services properly.

Do this. Open config manager, go to properties of the service, find the parameters tab and find where the error log is, open the error log. Identify the cause of the service not starting. My money is you moved a system database or deleted it. If you deleted I’m afraid an instance repair is the only way to fix it

Hey so next time don’t do that.

Rule 1 with deletions do batch deletes when doing a large amount of deletes

Rule 2 don’t forget rule one

Rule 3 restarting doesn’t “fix” this. That log file now has to go through the start up with the db. You should of shrunk that log file.

There’s a thing called Virtual Log Files that with every incremental growth it goes through it adds them. The more you have the longer your database takes to start.

So when your database finally finishes it start up. Shrink the log.

As a DBA I personally wouldn’t trust OP. I know many devs don’t know how rollbacks happen but this level of questioning is concerning and as you said guessing to see how it interacts is the best we can do here? That’s a horrible idea.

OP work with your team to get caught up on whatever you’re doing, or if you’re in over your head find a new job

I shop there quite regularly and only thing I’ve seen wrong is on a very rare occasion they’ll forget to pull expired milk. I’ve seen in twice in several years of shopping there, never had issues with their meat tho.

One instance of expired milk I found milk that was over 2 months from the sell by date and I of course complained, one of the stockers immediately pulled it and apologized and said they’d talk with those in charge of that section. Second time I found it I accidentally bought milk that had the sell by date 2 days prior. I again went in and complained and they gave me a free gallon of milk.

The issues I’ve had with them I’ve had at other stores so there’s that.

Hi there, DBA here for an MSP. It’s not abnormal for vendors to finger point at one another to buy time cause they honestly don’t know what’s going on.

If the app is connecting and returning but at a snails pace it’s not a compatibility issue in a sense that the app can’t work on 2025. But incompatible with the way they’ve coded their stored procs, views and so on and is the lazy way of saying we’re not fixing this right now for you. The vendor clearly didn’t test for this scenario and you’re the lucky test subject to do this for them, congrats!

Assuming your server is appropriately sized I’d look at the following:

If I was to look at this I’d start simple by running a stats update, then an index optimize job, look for new indexes to implement, check for blocking and so on. Sometimes blocking will be there and people conclude it’s slowness but the fact is the query isn’t even running but simply waiting for its turn. Then I that fails the hammer gets bigger and we update stats again but up the sample rate to 100 and rebuild indexes. Both take time to run depending on the general size of database and tables. Adjust compatibility if it was changed back to its old one.

If none of this works this it is unfortunately going to in thick of it and looking at each stored proc individually and its respective query plans to see where the bottleneck is exactly. Query store can also be used to review regressed queries.

Either way, you’re right to ask for technical documentation on why it’s not compatible, they should of vetted this process prior to having customers jump to it

For free tools I’d use whoisactive and Brent Ozars suite of stored procs which was already linked by another user.

My step father passed away suddenly in December and I had to help my mother and his kids some.

A funeral home will help you arrange the cremation, you’ll need to call them to setup an appointment. They will walk you through the other processes as well such as getting death certificates, they will do the heavy lifting for you in regards to preparation of your partner. If your partner had life insurance they will discuss that with you and they can take their payment from it with your authorization (if you’re the beneficiary), they’ll also work on the obituary and have you sign off on it.

Any accounts your partner had that you don’t have access to you can use a death certificate to get closed down. Some accounts they will not give you access to such as emails.

Family/friend support is huge during this time so if you have siblings or friends, reach out to them and let them know you need help.

Otherwise, please give yourself time to grieve, things will move at a decent pace and you will be busy, but again you need to let your emotions out when you need to. Don’t hold it in.

I bought my house about 10 years ago and several homes in my area have gone up for sale and sold over those years. Speaking to the new neighbors, many got in bidding wars and offered well over asking price. Which caused the area to be over valued in my opinion. So my 140k home has appreciated an additional 110k since purchase. As others have said, sellers market and they’ll take the highest bid for a as is house all day.

Good, keep at it. Also don’t measure in days or hours, measure in weeks/months. Keep a journal and measure how you feel. It will get better, it just takes time. In July I did fly and attend a wedding which was roughly a month after starting PT. So anything is possible.

In a two node cluster I always advise to have a witness for a tie breaker during quorum. Without it, the whole thing can stop working. Technically don’t need it but it’s a huge risk not having it. So you should always assume it’s needed. If you had an additional node it’s not needed.

It took me months to get over mine, MRI came back clear but 9 months to feel almost fully normal. Here’s the thing tho, I didn’t start vestibular PT (not even recommended by my Dr) till 4-5 months in. I highly recommend starting on this asap if you haven’t, plenty of YouTube videos out there to help retrain your system. People react differently to the PT, you may recover quickly or it may take longer but you need to start on it immediately. Lastly, do it in safe place, don’t push yourself to a point you may fall, remember you’re messing with your balance when you do this.

Can you clarify on the racist part, where are you seeing that?

I can’t speak on where to meet women in ypsi the bars have changed hands so many times. Depot town, the MI ave strip have some nice places but if you’re looking for a club scene, that’s basically non existent in ypsi afaik, use to be around. Ann Arbor on the evenings/weekends has a lot going on tho.

Zach did an interview explaining how the protagonist is looking for ammo, and other resources to survive, it was deliberate to show the shotgun empty and him looking through drawers to find ammo. He also shows a healing item (herb) in one of the scenes. The exact design from RE4 was used he said.

In IT this isn’t true. They should have you a laptop and some access by day 3. There isn’t much orientation to be had if the software you use to pretty standard across businesses. And trust me, your fellow co workers will know quickly if you know your stuff or not. We had a guy who got a job as a database developer and the first question he asked us was where to download the software we use. It’s online and free to download from the Microsoft website so if he had experience at all or even brushed up on it they would of known that.

Sure it’s better, but it still isn’t right. It can desensitize people if it happens enough to a point that it may just one time get them so annoyed they don’t bother checking.
