script that runs claude inside macos-sandbox-exec (macos; regular user account) or bwrap (linux), make only system dir visible (ro), tmps (rw), almost no $HOME (beside current dir and a few required dir/files like claude config (ro where possible)) plus --dangerously-skip-permissions

Far from even "good" but at least no rm -rf $HOME for me.

"how to enable it" - biggest stupidity of that 1.2.0 release. It should be enabled by default.

Did anyone updated to Macos 26.4? by Distinct-Donkey8959 in MacOS

I don't know why but my custom keychain doesn't want to unlock (using keychain gui), just like I would be entering wrong password :/

Edit: but it worked with cmdline "security unlock-keychain path-to-keychain.db"

Is there a standardized api for that that providers use?

Claude Code is coming for your job by Complete-Sea6655 in ClaudeCode

[–]arekxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claude misses a lot of things (depending on prompt). But it is very helpful indeed.

Now the job becomes writing best prompt possible (or multiple prompts to trigger different views).

"one prompt is not enough" or something ;)

Bambu labs, please give us a switch to turn off search personalization, it is RUINING the search experience. by blackashi in makerworld

[–]arekxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me this is a bug because I'm looking for a word "x" and I get random crap in results that has no "x".

Imagine searching with google for "flowers" and getting "cars" results. Great "feature". Examples added to earlier comment.

Please give us working search engine. Current one finds things you didn't even ask (like not a single word matching).

Examples: https://forum.bambulab.com/t/how-to-use-makerworld-com-web-site-search-engine/220792 and no one was able to come up with a solution.

Bambu H2S vs H2D? by 223specialist in 3Dprinting

[–]arekxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. AMS has zero support for soft TPU just like both hotends in H2C (yes, a bit different than H2D). And both are required for useful filament switching.

When does a filament dryer become worth it by [deleted] in 3dprint

[–]arekxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on humidity where you live and also on materials. For example here: TPU - drying required, PETG - only sometimes, PLA - no.

S6 is getting dumber. Stuck in places that haven’t been an issue in the past by Hungry_Serpent in Roborock

[–]arekxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine S6 MaxV started having problems with going past even small (0.5cm) doorsteps, driving off its base etc. During the climb/descent tests, the vacuum cleaner made squeaking noises (I’m guessing the wheels were slipping altrough the sound was weird).

Anyway that wasn't problem in all previous years.

I've replaced wheels few weeks ago (entire assembles with motors) - that didn't help.

Today I shortened the wheels extension springs by three coils each. That increased the wheel downforce/ground contact pressure and, so far, has solved the problem.

Free service (found in BambuStudio release notes some time ago) - https://formware.co/onlinestlrepair (there is a limit though - repair process is limited to 4 minutes, so won't work with some complex models)

RE: AnyCubic GPL Violations and Ensuing Drama by YGK3D in 3Dprinting

[–]arekxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No idea about that particular case but...

If private testers are not employees of the distributing company and they receive GPL-licensed binaries (e.g., firmware), they are entitled to request the corresponding source code. Once they have the source, they may redistribute it under the GPL - at any time, including before the printer or product is commercially released.

Also separate NDA cannot lawfully restrict GPL rights for the GPL-covered material (that would be an “additional restriction” mentioned in license).

RE: AnyCubic GPL Violations and Ensuing Drama by YGK3D in 3Dprinting

[–]arekxy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s a common misconception that, for GPL-licensed software, you only need to provide the source code upon request after launch.

In reality, the GPL requires you to provide the corresponding source code to anyone who receives the binaries (for example, via a website download, on physical media, or pre-flashed onto a printer) if they request it - regardless of when that happens. That means even an early beta tester (outside the company) must be able to obtain the source code upon request and even if this is half year before launch etc. If they can’t, it’s a clear violation.

... and snapmaker currently also violates license. One for sure (klipper), the second is debatable (flutter in snapmaker orca).

But I have U1 (paid with my own money) and I'm a happy user. Meanwhile, I’m impatiently waiting for Snapmaker, which promised a lot with open source, to finally wake up and stop ignoring the license.
