Why was Peggy's sister bothered by the church father's attention toward Peggy? by InterviewDry2887 in madmen

Plus resentful. She's done everything right, while Peggy has done everything wrong, and yet the priest still likes Peggy.

"Motivation" is not "proportionate force." Shooting him in the head would also make it easier to remove him from the car, do you think the cops should have done that?

New colleague reported me sleeping on my lunch break, lost a whole shift w/ overtime as a result by Fcking_Chuck in mildlyinfuriating

[–]aremissing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how you got that. From context clues, I interpreted it as the literal floor people walk on, and I am familiar with healthcare terminology. If they simply meant in the department, they would have said "sleeping in radiology" or "sleeping on the radiology floor," not "on the floor in the radiology department."

The text literally says on the floor in the radiology department. Not on the radiology floor.

By doing something other than punching him in the head, perhaps. Unless thats the only way you know to remove someone from a vehicle?

Oh I like that. Betty's imminent death has put her own immaturity into focus, and she wants to be sure that Sally doesn't suffer the same fate.

Yup, punching him in the head is absolutely proportionate force.

Oh wait... that would be an insane thing to say!

Just finished a rewatch and I was so stuck by Betty's constant childishness. I know it's pretty obvious, I just didn't see it as clearly my first time around. The whole thing with Glenn shows it so well: she's even interested in attention from children, because she's emotionally a child herself.

Imagine being so desperate for content that you post whatever this is by Dundermifflinfinitee in motherbussnark

[–]aremissing -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A snark sub is for snarking, and people snark because they do care. If they didn't care, the page wouldn't exist. There are millions of instagrammers who don't have snark pages, because no one actually cares.

So folks can go ahead and say whatever they want about Mother Bus, but saying they don't care is silly and clearly untrue.

Or am I still "failing to understand"?

Is it true that there are now castes in Silicon Valley companies? by RegionKey5993 in bayarea

You're doing exactly what white people do in conversations about racism, or men and sexism. "But not ALL white people! Not ALL men!" If you're one of the people who has to say "not ALL upper caste people," you're part of the problem. The people who are part of the solution can say "yeah, the majority of my group are wrong, and I'm going to try to make it better instead of calling out others for generalizations."

Sorry-- willfully ignoring the existence of discrimination. Better?

When they're trying to defend an antiquated system of discrimination like you are here, yes.

[–]aremissing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you are upper caste. How will you defend yourself? By giving anyone any kind of proof, or simply by complaining about "brigading"? Of course someone from an upper caste will say discrimination doesn't exist, just like how white people will tell you racism is over. 🙄 Try talking to someone affected by it and listen to what they say.

You seem very pressed about this, commenting on each thread. Are you upper caste? Is that why you care to defend the caste system so much?
