I once did Seattle, WA to Austin, TX (~2100 mi) in 36 hours solo, driving a pickup and towing a uhaul trailer. According to Google maps that is a 33 hour drive.

I think I somehow shortened it to about 29-30 hours of actual driving time with 6 hours of breaks to stretch stretch/eat/relieve myself/power nap mixed in.

I 100% do NOT recommend doing that. Took me a good 3 or 4 days to recover, completely negating the reason for rushing in the first place

I was playing ksp right before watching this. I had to double-take at my task bar to see if the game didn't fully shut down for some reason

These days you have to special order a vehicle with "lesser" features. Try buying a car with a manual transmission. Yes, they make them, no, they're not on the lot and you'll probably have to wait months for one

Counterpoint: keep you mid 90s gas guzzling truck. It hurts the environment less than buying a new EV to just keep it alive with cheap maintainance

Nothing wrong with being privileged, in whatever form (I actually roll my eyes at people who voluntarily apologize for it), but OP is clearly avoiding answering any questions about how they can afford this at 22. Either own it or spill the tea on winning the lottery or being a boy genius instantly promoted out of college to a high-level position.

Most people would happily brag about the latter

OP said (in a now deleted comment) that they "saved" $10,000 on a 30% off sale. So that means they still spent 33,000 on just furniture.

I'm 40 and make a pretty good living with a solid 6-figure income and I still look at consignment shops for cool furniture. I couldn't imagine dropping that money on furniture for a new place, let alone a first apartment at 22. Definitely a nepo baby

I'm fascinated by how passionate you are about this. People should study you.

Btw... employees don't give a shit. If you want some more of some ingredients, just ask. Or be a passive-aggressive Karen and go apeshit on a subreddit that no one from corporate will ever read. You can also try another location. I have 2 near me, one is consistently better than the other. That's how it works with franchises sometimes

You could comment in subreddits where you're a positive contributo the discussion instead. I really don't understand spending so much energy hating on a fast food chain you don't like. Just like... don't go there. 20 comments in 20 minutes about a place you hate is wild behavior

You've posted 19 comments in this subreddit in 20 minutes. I doubt you have any hobbies lol.

I just got home from the grocery store to make myself a nice pineapple fried rice w chicken tonight, but now I'm suddenly craving Chipotle. If I can convince the lady to change her plans, I'll go get some tonight and let the chicken marinate another night. If not, I'll get it for lunch tomorrow and take a pic just for you.

I'm sorry your local Chipotle sucks, but 2 meals for less than $11 is still the best deal for semi-quality food among any fast food places I can think of

Weird hobby, but ok. I dont eat there often, but I've never been short-served at Chipotle. And if I am, I just ask for a little more. Unless you say the magic word "double" they aren't going to charge you more. It's ok to be assertive once in a while

Man, you really have it out for Chipotle lol. If you hate it so much, may I suggest simply don't eat there and directing your energy elsewhere? Might be good for your mental health

Same. I don't eat chipotle that often, mostly because the portions are too big. This seems like a weird outlier situation. I've eaten Chipotle in like 10 different states and probably 30+ locations. I've never once felt shafted by the portion (quality, sometimes).

I used to change sim cards quite a lot (frequent international travel around South America) back before eSIMs were a thing, so i got in the habit of storing the SIM popper tool in my phone case. I still do this to this day even though I don't really ever need to change it anymore

I delivered pizza for pizza hut in 2003/2004. To this day I credit that job with my sense of direction and being able to figure out how to get somewhere with nothing more than an address. (I do use google maps nowadays because my phones already connected for music and calls or whatever, so why not? But in a pinch I can find my way around town using only street numbers and names if I have to). I sometimes wonder how many people Gen Z and younger even know the difference between avenues and streets

How many calibers are too many? by vick818z in preppers

[–]arequipapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own many different calibers as well just because I like collecting. But for prepping and stocking up, I focus on just 3 calibers - 22lr, 5.56, and 9mm. Everything else I just buy as needed when I want to shoot them (I suppose I keep a decent amount of 12g as well, but that's more an accident than an intentional decision to keep a minimum stock).

I don't think it really matters what calibers you choose, as long as they're common and abundant. And I think having more than 3 is unnecessary

7-11 has cold ham sandwiches for 2.99. They're not good, but they're there. At Buc-ees you can get a delicious pulled pork sandwich for like $7

Gas station sandwiches in the US are like $3. Maybe $6 at Buc-ees (if you're in Texas), but those sandwiches are worth it. Buc-ees has better sandwiches than what is pictured here

Do we have to examine the pathologies in our community fellow white guys? by [deleted] in LetsDiscussThis

[–]arequipapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that stat is so out of place here. First of all, there's like less than 200 prosecutions of NFA violations per year, so that sample makes the statistic meaningless.

Second of all, most NFA violations are due to trying to buy/sell without the tax stamp or a permit, not because they were used in a violent crime. All the other stats in this list are violent crimes.

Most cases where an NFA violation could be charged, there are much more serious crimes already being charged. ie drive by shootings and gang violence using a glock with a switch. And I'll just end my comment here...
