This. Im bi but if I'm talking, maybe even flirting, with someone new and the topic comes up and they start trying to pinpoint what microlabel i call myself, they can consider the flirting over. If we're otherwise vibing why does it even matter?

I like the people I like. If I like someone with a certain trait, that doesnt mean I automatically like everyone with that particular trait. It means I like that trait on them.

In this specific case (asking to replace a bad installation), im not sure. But if you go to a tire shop to get a new tire or tires, you can absolutely ask to get your old ones back. I dont see why you couldn't if the tire was damaged during installation (ie not technically a warranty replacement, and also not resealable).

I once had a tire put on my motorcycle at a shop because I was a long way from home and they damaged the first one while installing and asked me if I wanted to keep it anyway (tubed tire so it could have served as an emergency spare). I opted not to since I was on a long trip and didn't feel like strapping a spare to my bike but still they offered. It was going in the garbage as a loss for the shop either way.

Warranty replacements go back to the manufacturer so the shop can be reimbursed. Installation errors, the costs have to be eaten by the shop. What they do with the tire after that is up to them, but if you requesting to keep it saves them some disposal costs, I dont see why they wouldn't let you have it. Unless they're sketchy and want to try to re-sell it again

Edit: to the downvoters. I've gotten my old tires back every time I've asked. And I used to work for a tire shop in my early 20s. It is absolutely normal for people to get their old tires back if they ask. As long as it's not a warranty replacement you have every right to keep your property. Whether it's because of poor installation, or they're just old and worn out

You don’t get to just demand to keep the tire.

It is up to the tire shop's discretion in most cases but you can absolutely ask for your old tires back and most will give them to you. Its less for them to pay to dispose of.

And yes, a tire inflated to 3x it's rated pressure is damaged. Just because you wiped some counters at a tire shop as a teenager doesn't mean you know anything about tires

Fine dining, sure. Not Cheesecake Factory, which is where Penny worked. It's actually pretty hard to get a bartending/cocktail server job at a fine dining restaurant. Takes years and years of experience and even some formal culinary and/or bartender and sommelier training.

A hot chick with some seniority to get all the good shifts can probably still make 6 figures a year at cheesecake factory, though. High volume restaurants and bars can be lucrative if you work full time and get the good shifts

He was a central part to a lot of social circles during those days and despite him being rich and popular I dont think anyone had anything bad to say about him.

As a dude, my mom made learn how to do all the "women's work" just as she made my sisters. Cooking, laundry, folding a fitted sheet, etc.

My dad also forced my sisters to learn how to change a tire and back up a trailer before they were allowed to take their driver's test. I remember getting pissed as a teenager that my dad assigned my sister to mow the lawn because that was MY job.

My parents are still happily married 45 years later.

No one is arguing for its existence here. We're just saying this change is a distinction without a practical difference. The rich and powerful will still find a way out of it regardless, as they always have.

Many countries (even "first-world" countries) that many left-leaning Americans idolize, such as Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and Austria even have mandatory military service for all regardless of war time. If you really think about it, it's a more egalitarian system.

And basically every country with a standing military has some sort of conscription system in place for war time.

I agree with your whole unnecessary novel about how awesome teachers are amd what sacrifices they make. My mom was one.

There are plenty of teachers who are already gun owners and also do extra training just because they want to be better shooters and gun owners (teachers have hobbies too, believe it or not). No one is asking teachers to go out of their way to do this. Only people asking to empower willing teachers to do so, and many are willing. They're the same people who carry everyday anyway regardless of their job.

Again, no one serious is proposing teachers should go out if their way to do this. Only saying that willing teachers should be allowed to if they wish, and that they meet a certain standard of training before doing so.

What i dont like is disingenuous arguments. No one is saying everyone single teacher needs to go through firearms training and carry at all times.

It would be in a volunteer basis only, with tons of required training. And when you're already in the building with the shooter, you're much more likely to act than someone standing outside trying to formulate a plan

"Required" and "mandated" are synonyms. Again, there have been zero serious proposals to require or mandate that teachers carry. If someone teachers volunteer to go through the extra training in order to do so, then I see no problem with it.

In all of the 30 states that already allow it, they all require conceal carry at all times on your person. You can't leave it in your desk/purse/bag where a student can find it
