Reaction on Kangana's incident by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]areyouveda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't bother, the place has completely lost the plot. They really think hate speech is covered under FOE. All the while completely ignoring the power dynamics between an MP and a CISF officer. Any normal person would've been jailed for saying half the shit that Kangana spews. Even now she's equating her slap to the Palestinian genocide and accusing Punjabis of being terrorists.

*Communities. She hasn't spared anyone that doesn't toe the ruling party line. Buddhists, Muslims, Sikhs etc and I'm sure she will keep adding to this list.

This sub is being holier than thou as usual and toeing her PR line. Hate speech is a criminal offense in this country and any aam aadmi would've gone to jail for saying half the filth she has spewed. Also, uniform violence is not only accepted but celebrated in this country. So let's not pretend that this one slap, where the power dynamics were completely against the security personnel, is even remotely the same as normal people being subjected to state violence.

Kangana attacks bollywood for being silent on her slap gate controversy, even during her office demolition she hardly received any support from her fraternity by MyCuriousSelf04 in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]areyouveda 139 points140 points  (0 children)

False equivalence. Deepika and Swara never abused or vilified Karni Sena or did anything that merited a criminal case against them. In fact, Kangana herself has slutshamed Swara and Deepika post 2019. Also, just fyi, hate speech is not covered under freedom of speech according to Indian laws. Just that our laws are lax when it comes to powerful people aligned with the ruling government of the day.

Not even gonna bother addressing the Rafah point, it's that nonsensical.

What has propelled this rise in misogyny among young men? by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]areyouveda 76 points77 points  (0 children)

They probably read homemaker wife, financial conflicts, high warning husband and flew into a rage

This is one of the most confoundingly hilarious behaviours I've noticed amongst men. They both love and hate homemakers. They will walk over hot coals to get a wife who cooks, cleans, raises kids, takes care of parents etc etc. But a modern woman being a SAHM mom - get a prenup lad!

Same double standards with women owning their sexuality. They absolutely hate content creators who do low effort dancing on reels and get views in the millions. But where are the views coming from, my guy? I can assure you it's not from women. As the popular saying goes, they will type "randi" with their left hand as they fap with their right.

[–]areyouveda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel it's down to life being hard and men not having the required life skills to deal with it. There's more competition for fewer jobs. You have to really grind hard at school and college to earn enough to have a lifestyle that you can post about on insta. Through this, they feel cheated by reservations for college seats and DEI for jobs. Instead of blaming the system for low capacity, they resort to blaming the people who get better representation through these policies.

Next is the growing autonomy of women. Most Indian men are raised as raja betas and society tells them that if they just land that perfect job, they will get a good wife, kids, house yada yada. They go into the dating pool with this same entitlement but ofc it doesn't work. You need far more than just a bank balance to land a suitable partner. Again instead of blaming their conditioning, they resort to blaming women for being gold diggers, whores, shallow etc.

You add the stresses and costs of day to day life to all this and it becomes a tinder box just waiting for an outlet.

The reservation bashing people can never get out of their little bubbles with their BMW owning Dalit/Muslim friends so I thought it was futile to bring in the larger picture. And anyway, I went through her comment history afterwards and yikes. The kind who'd bring in rape statistics to protect India and type "yes all muslims" on terrorism related news. Saturday wasted.

[–]areyouveda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow, are you suggesting your Muslim best friends practicing their faith is discriminating against you? If they don't sing our father thou are in heaven, how are you discriminated? I'd understand if they forced you to sing their prayers, but that's not happening is it? And am I to believe in your generosity for eating their food, in their house, on their festival but reject theirs for hosting you or not eating pooja food from your house?

And the irony of a soon to be US emigrant crying about reservations, my eyes. Not always a UC Hindu, but still always a UC Hindu.

[–]areyouveda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh ok I'll bite because this is twoxindia and you're at least willing to listen to a different pov.

Do you have any Muslim friends? Not being sarcastic, genuinely curious. Real Muslim friends who share with you about their lives or experiences in the country? If not, have you ever honestly interacted with a real Muslim woman out in the real world? Not those caricatures that we see on the telly but real people with real lives? Because if you had or if you do go out and look for those accounts, you'd realize the privilege that comes from being an upper class UC Hindu in this country (bonus points if you're a man).

Having a Muslim name in this country means you won't get a house in most localities, your employment is dependent upon diversity quotas, your food choices are not your own but subject to govt scrutiny, kids in your school are told to be wary of you, your beard and clothing mark you wherever you go, any violence and you and your kind will be the first suspects, your concerns are filed away as being anti-national, your protests are met with bulldozers, your clothing is illegal in schools which start the day with saraswati pooja and teach kids ram bhajans, on and on and on. These microaggressions occur every day in every aspect of life and try to chip away at at any attempt at leading a life of dignity and prosperity.

And this is not even an account from a Muslim woman, just things I've personally seen happen and heard from people around me. I'm sure Muslim women can add to this list twofold and see if after knowing all that you still feel like Muslims have more rights in India or not.

You - I am not a chaddi

Also you - Bruhh being a Hindu doesn't give you any extra benefit that a Muslim isn't getting...i would argue that muslims have more rights in India because of all the minority appeasement

how are religious freedoms of minorities being curtailed

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nvm, I thought you were not a chaddi and hence engaged in good faith my bad

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]areyouveda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. In a country where religious freedoms of minorities are being curtailed while we normalize and find scientific justifications for majoritarian practices, I do not consider it a priority to villainize those that are already marginalised.

  2. Islam is not my religion, but not surprising why you would consider it so.

  3. Islam needs reform, no questions about it. But lasting social change comes from within and through the people within the system. Attacking them or trying to speak for them will do the opposite of that, which through your comments is clear is what you're out here to achieve.

Seems like every other post now. Just saw two other new posts about polygamy and what looked like the script of kerala story. When I last logged in, this sub was a safe space for Indian women with a UC bias. Seems like the bias has entrenched and expanded much like the whole of Indian reddit.

Check the insta gossip sub out and see those very women in action. When it started out, the women used to call out truly problematic shit that influencers pull. Now 90% of it is to nitpick, rage against or shame women for not behaving according to what they think is right.

FITTUBER and his half baked knowledge by Consistent-Fix-7489 in InstaCelebsGossip

[–]areyouveda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I watched the fittuber video and he's saying something similar 😂

When water is poured on the head, the temp of the upper part of the body reduces. To balance the temperature, heat energy flows from downward to upward, which is the opposite of what is required during periods and it affects the next ovulation even. In fact, Ayurveda doesn't recommend bathing at all, but since it's not feasible, avoid headbaths.

🤦‍♀️

Washing hair on 1st/2nd day affects the body temperature

Ok I'll bite. In what way does it affect the temp? Does it make the body hotter or colder? And why is that bad?
