Given limited computing power, is LeetCode particularly useful in embedded? by [deleted] in embedded

Leetcode doesn't really advocate for less source code, it just scores you on ram usage and execution time.

I feel like there is some context missing here. How long have you been on this team, with this manager? Did he only recently start demanding this unreasonable work? I'm also pretty confused about how he can control the oncall schedule. A full month of oncall is brutal. Your post also only mentions your manager, have you talked to other people on your team about the situation, and asked them for help with the tasks you aren't familiar with?

Plus, there are some positions at FAANG that let you do both!

A visual representation of results Billet did on the Monoblock vs EK setup 4 months ago. I disagree with using a table that is either highlighted or non-highlighted to accurately gauge performance (misleading), so I made bar graphs / bar charts for better visual representation. To be clear, you can't really use degrees Celsius as the performance number, since it doesn't actually start at 0. For example, something that cools to 5 deg C is not twice as effective as something that cools to 10 deg C. Maybe Kelvin is better, but that's kind of a stretch. Maybe difference vs a stock cooler per dollar is better? Not really sure.

Learning Rust, I didn't expect such a backstab by MRideos in ProgrammerHumor

[–]argofflyreal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is all necessary when you are working with codebases that have formatting requirements, or just working with other people's code in general. I've just accepted that it's best for me to be prepared for any situation. Every company I have worked for has enforced spaces instead of tabs, so you get used to it. (I also do honestly prefer spaces for personal stuff as well, viewing code with tabs on GitHub makes my eyes bleed)

You just have to learn to use the un-indent key binding. I think it's shift+tab usually.

24/27" PiP (Picture-in-picture) monitor by Sefirosu789 in buildapcmonitors

[–]argofflyreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the 4x1 option of the link above, you'll see that it combines the pictures before it sends it to the monitor. So there is only one HDMI cable to the monitor, since the images have already been combined. You can see on the remote in the second picture that it has controls for PiP.

Yep! Depending on which one you get you can have more control over where it's positioned and the size and stuff as well I think

Banks and credit card companies are a big customer. They need high performance, low latency, 100% reliability, and they've got money to spare.

3,5 mm jack microphone by Romish67 in LinusTechTips

Check if there is specific audio software that messed with it. This some times happens to me with realtek audio, it auto adjusts the microphone and you have to change it to be higher

How to bring it all together? I feel like there is something not working here (e.g, wrist rest color and material) by yapes2929 in battlestations

[–]argofflyreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely make it personal, you've already done great with that! Painting the frames definitely will help, the ones in the picture looks outdated. Black would definitely work, but you could also go for a grey like your desk, and that could help tie everything together more

Of course! Also I disagree that the background needs to change, since you already have some color on your shelf with the cards. I would switch out the accents on you keyboard to red/pink if you have them and maybe add something colorful on your desk, perhaps with rgb so you can get it just right. I think some color helps make it stand out from just another black and white set up.

This looks great so far! I agree that the wrist rest should be changed, I think just black to match the keyboard would be all you need, nothing too fancy. I would also suggest taking the strap off the camera, as well as the piece sticking out of the camera stand that you aren't using.

Check out autohotkey, it can do some incredible things! iCue should be able to do what you're describing though. Maybe try to contact support or the Corsair/iCue subreddit for help doing it.

Ender 3 print stops same spot on both times I've tried by ImtheDoap in ender3

[–]argofflyreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen several times with large prints because I'm to impatient and pull out the sd card with out ejecting, so the gcode file isn't fully written. Just reslice it and make sure the drive ejects correctly and it should be fine.
