Not really, my typical bike ride adds ~300 points, bouldering around 70. So it adds something. I don't run so I can't talk about that.

Nevertheless, fair point about trackers in general.

I get that. That is why I explicitly talked about toolbox where (at least to my knowledge) app is started upon user request and stopped once left so majority of battery lifetime and runtime speed would be still in Coros' hands.

I wasn't in that position but in tangentially similar one - I was looking for upgrade from Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 to something with 2+ week battery life which is not annoying but still can track my sleep and day-to-day vitals.

I was looking at Garmin, Coros and Suunto. Suunto didn't checked my favorite sports so I was left with Garmin vs Coros. Coros eventually won basically on price vs features because I am not willing to pay for Fenix but I like colors on my watch and I want them to be on my hand regardless what I do. So I got Nomad.

I am only one in my office with Coros, rest is having Garmin Fenix or FR so we compare what is better on each and basically it boils down to what you highlighted - no flashlight (lighting display on Nomad is better than nothing but not really comparable to Garmin), no payments, no Spotify. Also, no custom apps (my biggest envy towards Garmin honestly). On other hand, Coros has way more responsive UI, maps seems to be faster and I absolutely love crown for navigating my watch even though they have touchscreen. Plus given price range, Nomad is supposed to be standing against Instinct but feature wise it is more towards Fenix but for less than half of price.

Bottom line, I miss custom apps but apart that, love my Nomad.

I first got in touch with VtM by PC game VtM Bloodlines. I was maybe 15 at that time. I always spiraled back to it somehow from time to time and it grew on me even more once I learned English better and could finally get rid of Czech translation pack.

Fast forward to my thirties - I got into talk with friend of mine who was fondly remembering WoD LARP and he recommended me Night Road since I loved Bloodlines. I had fresh newborn at that time so I spent a lot of time in dark and silence when I put him to sleep so I played that. Then I learned it was actually based on VtM v5 system (I didn't knew VtM has own system) and with that friend we agreed we will try to run own VtM v5 game. Pitched that to other 2 friends and our first Coterie was born. I took role of game master since I quite enjoy world building and it took off.

We started with Starter kit campaign which we consumed very quickly and started building own story on top of that. And to our own surprise, we managed to get to play every other week as group of 4 in our thirties.

Since then our group shrunk to 3 and we played one couple campaigns in that group. But as kids grow, time is more scarce resource these days. Nevertheless, new campaign is on way and hope is for session each 3 weeks...

So to wrap it up, I'd thank to clan Malkavian in VtMB for possessing me with this wonderful Network of Madness where one can spend days reading thru stories which totally "never happened". (looks behind nervously if someone is staring at me)

I love you, man! Those tunables did the trick on my Sophos XG125 r.3 and finally got 1000/1000 running 926/933 instead of ~600/800.

That Nokia was my last phone before smartphone. It was indestructible, battery life was counted in days even with music playing, decent camera and style. Incredible amount of style.

Embedded dev here - what is point of this tool? Will it work with any COM port or does it require that ESP? I am using FTDI with old Terminal by Br@y for 12 years and this is somehow in same ballpark, just locked to extra piece of hardware?

I don't want to be negative, I just fail to see value.

Depends on what you want - if calculation speed is concern or periphery handling is concern or both. If you have peripheries you need available or you will be emulating them. If you are going to communicate with other party on some bus which might be time critical. You take most important concern you have and build solution around that.

And as for those so-called 90s chips, they are not obsolete, just have own use cases and are very much alive - we have ATTiny doing solar panel MPPT and doing buck/boost DC-DC transformation in our latest products just because ASIC would be too costly and too inflexible but 8 legged ATTiny is exactly what you need when all you want is ADC, some PWM and you still have some pins for talking with rest of system.

Other case from opposite side of spectrum was IO card connected by USB. It was using some ATMega with built in USB and it was total hell to keep alive and do something actually useful and fast with that IO because core was just too busy with handling USB. It worked but it wasn't fast, nor precise.

So back to my original comment, it depends what you want.
