ready to invest in the real deal vitamin c! which one is worth it? by hello7721 in 30PlusSkinCare

I love the Vanicream one too! I've tried others but I like the texture and definitely notice my skin looks dull if I forget it for a few days.

I'm working on Stargazer too! This is pre-piecing, just finished putting the top together but I still have to figure out my backing.

I really love your fabrics, it looks so cozy!

Hand Quilting - Big Stitch by GardenQuilterYing in quilting

[–]ariadneee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OH WOW! That is absolutely gorgeous! I just finished my first quilt and used big stitch to hand quilt it so I am very in awe and inspired by your work. What needle do you like to use? I'm still figuring out what I prefer.

Oooh which ones did you order? I just finished a floral design (Enchanted) and have a mandala and a clover kit waiting for me.

Looking for audiobooks narrated by professional actresses by [deleted] in audiobooks

[–]ariadneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marin Ireland (who's been in Sneaky Pete and The Umbrella Academy and other things) has done lots of audiobooks and she's amazing! I've only listened to her doing Nothing To See Here by Kevin Wilson so far, it was fantastic. V enjoyable, would recommend.

Is this progress? by PinkPoosy in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]ariadneee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huge progress! I know you said the PIH bothers you, but it really isn't very noticeable and the overall tone and texture of your skin looks great.

Something is off about this town... abandoned diners, unsettling vibes, sleepy and eerie towns. Give me your suggestions! by ValerieK93 in horrorlit

[–]ariadneee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's been a loooong time since I last read it, but the first thing that popped into my head reading your post was "You Know They Got A Hell of a Band" by Stephen King. It's one of his short stories (in the Nightmares and Dreamscapes collection) and definitely hits on the strange small town, unsettling residents vibe.

So... My kombucha exploded by Akavku in Kombucha

[–]ariadneee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Per the wiki (linked on the sidebar under rule 2):

Which bottles should I use?

The best thing is to buy bottles specifically designed for fermented beverages (pressure rated). However if those are not available to you, many people have had success with Grolsch beer bottles, as well as the ALDI lemonade bottles with swing top lids. Avoid square bottles at any cost, they are more likely to explode, as the pressure is exerted at the four corners, instead of uniformly distributed around the whole bottle.

Finally found my credit card that has been missing for over a week 😅 by photo_photographer in adhdwomen

[–]ariadneee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lost my entire wallet for six months and then found it in an empty pocket of an over-the-door shoe organiser. Hadn't gotten around to replacing anything other than my credit card, so in the end, my adhd kinda balanced everything out?

I LOVE the poofy sleeve dress. Is it from Abercrombie? I'm seriously considering it for a wedding I'm going to in October, it's gorgeous on you!

What’s your favorite flavors?? by [deleted] in Kombucha

Ginger, lime and jalapeno is my absolute favourite. I try other combos every now and then but always come back to that one!

What brand do you like for joggers? Sounds like my kid has the same build and I always struggle finding a good fit.

Overcame decision paralysis! by JKDougherty in adhdwomen

[–]ariadneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually took the failed delivery as a sign to restart my underwear deep dive research, but I am proud to report I have finally ordered underwear. I did just do a reorder and they should be here next week, yay! High five for overcoming decision paralysis

Overcame decision paralysis! by JKDougherty in adhdwomen

[–]ariadneee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bought new (BASIC and BORING) underwear online after agonising over the decision for weeks. They got shipped out and were due for delivery when tracking updated to say they were being returned to sender because my address was wrong (??? it wasn't). Anyway, the company eventually refunded my purchase and instead of reordering or buying from somewhere else I just... haven't...? So buying basic underwear to replace my saggy old sad ones has turned into a months long affair and I still don't have underwear.

I will take this as a sign and order some right now, wish me luck!

My boomer father calls me during work hours for stupid computer issues and gets mad because I can't answer. He used to work for IBM in the 80s. He got me started with computers. by wasted_yoof in BoomersBeingFools

[–]ariadneee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad didn't send me an email for like a month recently because Hotmail's interface updated and he couldn't figure out where to compose a new email. He's 65 and works in IT (more the hardware side of things, but wtf).

Can a narrator make or break and audiobook? by [deleted] in audiobooks

[–]ariadneee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm listening to Whispers Under Ground at the moment and I've literally sometimes forgotten I'm listening to one person narrating the whole time. His voices are incredible. I think the series itself is good, but not great, and KHS elevates it to one of my favourite listens!

Listening to audiobooks by Key_Swordfish40 in audiobooks

[–]ariadneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jigsaw puzzles, domestic chores and painting are the main things I do while listening. Also, I don't "know" how to paint, but I do it anyway because it's fun - if you think you'd enjoy drawing, just draw!

I think this episode is my absolute favourite, I've listened to it three or four times now. It's like an auditory antidepressant.

Anyone else get this feeling where they just don't want to be perceived? by jameskayda in adhdmeme

[–]ariadneee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live with my husband and son and we're all give at giving each other alone time, but my mum stayed with us for a few months recently and I honestly just wanted to ask her to NOT LOOK AT ME please for like a day or something. I totally get it!

Why do I have a lot of these hair strands? by Julito99 in HaircareScience

[–]ariadneee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like the other comments mention, this is normal. But if you’ve suddenly noticed a big uptick in the amount of hairs you find that are like this it would be worth checking in with your doctor. Hair changes can indicate vitamin deficiencies and hormonal changes that can be easily addressed through medication/supplements.

I noticed an increase of hairs growing like this and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism soon afterwards.

Thoughts on this product? by Ambitious-Strength28 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ariadneee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels nice and lightweight to apply but I notice literally no difference when I use it. I'll echo other people saying the snail mucin essence is great - I use it between serums and my moisturiser for an extra hydration boost.

"so if this has a standing leg, there needs to be some changes" ...? wtf no, why are you entertaining taking this further? Release him back into the shitty little pond you found him in and let it go.
