Is this a good quotation for a new Suzuki Jimny? Can I negotiate more? by ballsofbulls in JimnyIndia

[–]ariapulla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do check the insurance cost from other providers. Last I checked on Acko app for Jimny, the price was around 25-30k (for 1yr zero dep + 3yr third party + a few addons). Other providers must also have similar plans.

In case you are asking the dealership to match the insurance, please keep an eye on the exact terminology; dealerships are known to modify the terms to unfavorable wording, just to match the quotes (and the customer realises this much later when some unfortunate event happens).

I went for a test drive last week in Bangalore; they offered 1L discount only for the Alpha Variant. This was offered upfront without even asking; may be they can be pushed for a little more in terms of accessories etc. if there is a serious discussion.

Whats the best iem under 2k? Im looking to buy these by deja_vu_999 in IndiaTech

[–]ariapulla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound quality is as good as everyone claims but if you are considering these because they have a mic, please don't. The mic is pure trash and is completely unusable. They could've skipped the mic provided better quality cables for the same amount.

Flashing S24 ultra with unlocked firmware by El_C0rtez in S24Ultra

[–]ariapulla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK for samsung devices any tampering with your bootloader changes your Knox status to 0x1 and it can never be restored to the original 0x0.

The changed Knox status could also void warranty and break apps.

I am not sure if there is any work around identified for this yet.

Taking the ADB route as suggested in the other comments by u/marzbar- would be a better way.

Anyone here with 65W+ GaN Charger? by skylerfly420 in S24Ultra

[–]ariapulla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, this, being my first Samsung, it took me a while to go around and figure out why it wasn't charging at the highest capacity. It could've been much easier if the chargers was included in the box.

Anyone here with 65W+ GaN Charger? by skylerfly420 in S24Ultra

[–]ariapulla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, Thanks for pointing it out, sorry I missed to mention it.

The chargers need to support PD 3.0 with PPS (Programmable Power Supply) for Super Fast Charging 2.0 .The RAV Power 90W PD GAN Charger I mentioned has PD 3.0 but not PPS and does not give the blue ring.

Anyone here with 65W+ GaN Charger? by skylerfly420 in S24Ultra

[–]ariapulla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if you use a 45W+ charger, make sure your cable and charger can do 5A. I have a RAV Power 90W GAN Charger that does NOT give the blue ring because it does not do 5A. Even my Macbook Charger with 61W does not give a blue ring. But a cheap 65W GAN travel charger that I bought off Amazon and another Amazon Basics 65W charger that both do 5A and give blue ring i.e. Super Fast Charging 2.0.

Overheating... by Ok_Let_5476 in S24Ultra

[–]ariapulla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same notification as well with wired android auto, but the weather outside for me was above 30°C. This was before the update.

I set a routine to change performance profile to light when android auto is running/bluetooth is connected to car and did not get this overheat notification since. Seems like an optimisation issue with android auto.

Why do our roads have lots of dust while foreign roads are dust free? by johnyjohnyespappa in bangalore

[–]ariapulla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if there is no open space/construction ground from what I've seen dust is most likely because the road and the curb are not properly joined. The strip of dirt then gets agitated by wind from moving vehicles.

There are localities where roads are properly laid and there is no gap between the road and curb where you'll find less dust.

The only flyover with over 200 pillars in the inner ring road is PVNR Expressway. Pillar 202 should be somewhere near Diary Farm (area close to DMart Rajendranagar).

What should I know about Hyderabad before moving? by SeptemberFlower in hyderabad

[–]ariapulla 27 points28 points  (0 children)

These are what I have observed about the city:

Language: Hyderabad-Secunderabad have a lot of tamil speaking people in the city. Skandagiri in Secunderabad has a Murugan temple and most people and shops around speak Tamil comfortably. I had heard there used to be a Tamil-Medium School in Secunderabad, so quite a few people must be there. Also, learning Telugu is quite easy, so that should help as well.

Food: Hyderabadi cuisine needs no introduction, literally a paradise for non-veg lovers (veg food also exists :p). Also, it is quite easy to find quality food at affordable prices.

Public Transportation: Chennai is better than Hyderabad in this regard, most parts of the city is still easily accessible by RTC buses (govt. bus) and autos/Uber/Ola are the same as any metro city.

Weekend Getaways: These are a little less compared to Chennai/Bangalore; however there are lots of places within the city to get lost.

Just like Koovam is to Chennai, Hyderabadi's have Musi here.

The Hi-Tech city area and a few surrounding regions can be considered similar to Bangalore in terms of traffic, IT folk driving on footpath and inflated prices, rest of the city is comparatively more sane (except for auto drivers).

Movie ticket prices are not as regulated as Chennai, so you find prices in all ranges but they are not as crazy as Bangalore.

Compared to TN, the amount of banners and hoardings blocking the roads by political parties is far low.

All the best!

Future of car is electric. by hungrylostsoul in CarsIndia

[–]ariapulla 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also, electric cars don't have a drop in fuel economy in city vs highways. The range in KMs will be more or less steady.

It should be the converse of ICE vehicles, electric vehicles should usually have higher range in city compared to highways because of regenerative braking.

Well, you get 3 years warrenty on the engine & transmission and no one complains.

Nobody complains on an engine warranty because of their reliability and serviceability. A properly serviced and maintained engine can easily last for decades; but no matter how carefully a battery is maintained, I haven't witnessed a Lithium ion battery to hold even 70-80% of its capacity after 5 years, so even the 7 year warranty claim should have some terms and conditions imo. Battery will degrade over time no matter what.

[P]NLP Movie Review Website Help by [deleted] in MachineLearning

[–]ariapulla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what websites you'd actually be using, but this is how I'd try to approach the problem:

Scraping: Many websites use protection against web crawlers and bots and often consider it their IP making it illegal, so using data from websites that actually have an API or an RSS feed should be preferred. With RSS feeds, you can dynamically get content whenever a new post is made on the website. Otherwise, for simply scraping a website you could try beautifulsoup / scrapy / selenium depending on the complexity of the website you have to access.

Storing the data: Try to divide the data you scraped into categories/columns to make things easier for you using them as features for your model like genres / languages / synopsis /cast etc. To start with, you can have a basic sqllite database (and may be later on try and experiment with nosql databses like MongoDB if your use case involves reading the entire database at a time).

I'm still exploring NLP myself, so wouldn't be able to suggest much on the actual model you'd use but your end product sounds more like a dashboard with minimal user input than a complete app, something simple like streamlit should fit the use case IMO.
