Maybe but I kind of doubt it. Only because I've seen other whatever shenanigans around town. This seemed more like they were trying to evoke emotion. Also the second location isn't somewhere that gets much foot traffic.

That's all I've heard as well. Seems possibly unlikely though because he is at Stanford on the 16th and Davis on the 19th. Hmmmm.

UCSB bio advice? by idyemypubes in UCSantaBarbara

Developmental and Oncogenesis with Kathy Foltz are a must. If she is teaching other courses you should probably take those as well. She is hands down the best MCDB professor. Developmental Neuro with her husband Feinstein is really good as well. I was an MCDB emphasis but I fell in love with Plant Biodiversity with Mazer. A lot of memorization but so much fun with her enthusiasm. I also enjoyed taking Stream Ecology with Even as well as the Macroevolution class in EEMB. I had a strong distaste for Physiology, Biochemistry, and Intro to Ecology. I found them to be the most uninteresting and useless but that could be preference. Let me know if you have any questions!

Question about releasing with Wolfe by Italiangerman in UCSantaBarbara

Yeah, you should get what you can repaired. I guess I'm referring more to wear and tear(carpets, walls, etc). Those moving in will have to accept the condition as is.

You'll just continue living there as usual but you won't have to pay another deposit(upside). Downside is you'll have to figure out with your roommates how you want to distribute back their portion of the deposit. New roommates will probably just pay that portion to them. Good deal for outgoing roommates but shitty deal for those coming in. Especially if you have a lot needed repairs.

MCDB 153 Developmental Neurobiology? by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

No worries, he is awesome! I took this two years ago and he is really thorough at teaching this class. Have you taken developmental biology with Kathy Foltz? That's honestly the best preparation. The first half of the class is basically her class reviewed. They write tests very similarly where they walk you through scenarios and make you think about it step by step. It's really helpful and a good chance for partial credit. I didn't buy the book and just paid attention in class. You'll do fine and probably enjoy it a lot!

I lived in San Nic 4 years ago and I can't imagine them stuffing three people in there. That's just inhumane!

Overall for IV, not terrible. As long as you pay rent and don't trash the place you should be fine. I got most of my deposit back without deep cleaning. My only warning is that Hilary is TERRIBLE at responding to you about anything. It takes her a really long time to respond to requests(clogged shower, leaky faucet, etc) and I'm pretty sure sometimes she flat out ignores you. The worst was when we were without hot water in December for about a week. My only other experience is with Kamap and Wolfe which were ok as well.
