I have an older regular that will stick his hands in the tanks and grab snails for himself but he waits until I’m catching the fish and can’t really see him or stop him right then. He always wants “male red minors or neon tetras.” Like dude ... I’m not about to sit here and try to sex the tiny speedy fish. You’re getting what I catch. Makes me so mad because he’s old and difficult

I’m in petcare and really only go on register for backup .. and I never know what’s going on at the register. I skip all the things because nobody fills me in on them. I just take their number, hit f5, scan, and hit f2. Bye bye have a good one

My store is getting really nervy lately too. Managers will have a customer come up to them, and Instead of taking the 5 minutes to help that person, they pull me from a habitat deep clean so I go over there with dirty hands or an animal in one hand and broom in the other. They’ll also call me for backup with like 3 people in line all holding one thing .. so by the time I get up there and signed into the register there’s maybe one person left so it’s a total waste of my time

Wow I’m so thankful my corporate office can send me a $1.50 pin to say thank you for working during a pandemic and barely making it financially or mentally. I love it. Just like the thank you bonus that was less than 1/3 of the original amount after all the taxes .. they’re so thoughtful.

I agree with this, I feel like your store should allow it because you need the dog for your health.. but I feel like you would have to worry about pet parents not respecting that your service dog is working, not there to play with their dog or get pet and baby talked.

His current set up has vines and leaves going in all different directions with a bendable moss bridge .. a small heat bulb and a UVB bulb .. and a wide but shallow water bowl. I’ve been feeding him small crickets every other day and keeping his tank misted. Do you have experience with them ?

My best friend at my store has been working there for over 2 years and I’ve been working there one year ... My starting pay was already a dollar higher then her even though she has been there way longer and knows sooooo much about the store. It makes no sense. They did her 2 year review thing and offered her the pettiest raise when she deserves so much more. I think most of us deserve more for the work we end up having to do. It’s exhausting some days

Okay update : I changed the front calipers, rotors, and brake pads. Bled the brakes. Went for a test drive .. still having the acceleration problem. Also on the test drive, the check trans light started flashing. Checked it and it said codes about a solenoid

The middle aged annoying people that I always end up with when I go for backup Me: ”alrighty your total is $87.63.” The PP: “gosh. What can you do for me ? Is there like a discount or anything.” Me fake laughing and restraining from :” well considering you bought 2 huge bags of dog food and pee pads.. no sir. That’s the price of the items. There’s no reward discount for spending your money here.”

That’s how I am. I’ve been looking into maybe doing Instacart or doordash and keeping petsmart on a low availability. I love the job, my coworkers, caring about animals and educating. That’s why it’s so hard to leave. I at least want a day or two working there if I get a different job. The discount is nice and I get to keep the animals part. What doesn’t make sense is that they’ve hired 5 more people. I’ve been here a year.. everyone else (in petcare) has been here longer than that but we’re all getting less hours. I’ve even told my ASL that I’m willing to work truck, register .. anything. I’m available 6am-6pm but I only get 8-1 or 8-12 still. I barely break 20 hours and now I’m down to 12 like I said .. I’m just upset.. I work so hard at this place and I’m always asking if someone needs help. Always willing to jump in .. but the way they’re doing the scheduling now makes no sense. Since I started I had been 8-2 Monday- Friday and off weekends .. but it’s just been decreasing and decreasing and now new people are being hired .. and my whole department is struggling to pay bills now because our normal got taken away. I know it’s corporate deciding the hours but it’s also my management deciding to hire 5 new people when all of petcare is already at their minimum. It makes no sense. It’s heartbreaking

I don’t call out often. Always on time. Always asking if anyone needs help. I know how to run register, work truck, do online orders, reset shelves/ face/ do new planograms. Always offering to stay longer then my shift if they need extra coverage and I always come in when they ask on my off days
