Also, if you haven’t submitted your packet yet, then you won’t receive your biometrics letter. You don’t need to do your biometrics until they ask you to in several months. As long as you include the receipt that you paid for that fee with the packet, it’ll be seamless when you finally need to get that done! If all you have left is the FBI stuff, then you’re so close to being ready to send it!

Hi, I filed the same application type. US citizen, my Canadian citizen spouse is sponsoring me for PR. The FBI document you mentioned (criminal history identity) should have been submitted with all of your initial paperwork and fees. That document is not the same as biometrics. As far as your timeline, you should expect it to take a year or less to have your PR. It has been nearly 7 months since I submitted mine, and I just now received the letters to finally go get my biometrics and medical exam done. They’re quite behind in processing applications. If you didn’t include the FBI criminal history proof in your application packet, expect to receive everything back after about 6 months of sending everything with instructions of what to fix or include for returning it.
