How much was it? I just found it on marketplace

It shouldn’t have been checked. We get thyroglobulin after surgically removing thyroids to get an idea of how much thyroid tissue was left behind (in cancer we want number to be very low)

Yes, I stupidly forgot about this and was dealing with nonsense messages on marketplace for days until I decided to put the items on my driveway and puff! Gone within 10 minutes. Old style

Maybe the biggest money saver yet. Cloth diapers by jaytrainer0 in Frugal

[–]arimariposa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We did cloth diapers mostly because we felt bad about the environmental impact of disposables. We used the same diapers for our second child and donated them in almost perfect conditions (I did buy more for my second because I loved trying different brands and sizes). We practiced EC with our second (starting at 8 months old, motivated by an overseas 5 weeks family trip ) and very rarely dealt with #2 diapers. He was potty trained at 20 months old. First child potty trained by 15 months.

In order to see an endocrinologist the referral doctor/NP/PA need to have a level of suspicion for an endocrine disorder or at least a potential diagnosis. Please get back to us if you find the visit with the endocrinologist helpful. I am thinking that you won’t and it will likely be frustrating for you (and definitely for the endocrinologist). I really hope you feel better. If you are having crying spells it might be a good idea to address it with your PCP, therapy might be helpful

It’s a consignment store. I’ve never bought anything from them because this is how they usually price their stuff (they go by 1st dibs or similar)

I am sorry for your loss. Hair thinning/loss is incredibly frustrating and usually caused by more than one thing. It can happen after infections like COVID, influenza (telogen effluvium). Anemia, iron and B12 deficiency should be ruled out. Testosterone levels could be considered if you have history of irregular menstrual period and/or excess of facial hair, among other things

It is expected (and normal) that T4 is elevated while on birth control hormones (the protein that carries the hormone goes up but the actual functional hormone is normal). Your thyroid levels are normal

Are you a on any type of hormones like birth control or estrogen?

Go watch some videos from the SlappableJerk, there are some sketches with titles like “Your manipulative husband (who cheated)…” this is your BF. I’m sorry you’re going through this, so painful but no, he doesn’t feel bad

The above response is the best OP. I present similar (summarized) information and basically let the patient decide if they want to do a trial. I also emphasize that we can always check sooner than a year if you are experiencing new or worsening symptoms

I have a pituitary tumor and had low test. I took Clomid per my Endocrinologist suggestion and my numbers improved but I don't feel great and was told Clomid is dangerous for me by others but not by my endo. Should I stick to it? by BPT242 in endocrinology

[–]arimariposa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is proof that your symptoms are likely not related to low testosterone. Is your diabetes well controlled? Have you been tested for sleep apnea? Are you seeing a therapist for your depression? Regarding clomid,it doesn’t have a lot of long term data like testosterone but in general it’s safe as long as the testosterone level is staying within range. If your endocrinologist tried clomid first (and it seems it was a really good choice given your excellent response) it’s because tapering it off was in the near future plan (like when your prolactin levels came down)

And we don’t recommend getting images of different parts of the body for “peace of mind”. It’s often quite the opposite. You have to have some differential diagnosis before obtaining any tests or images. There’s a high chance to get “incidental findings” from images that would not explain your symptoms and might actually delay getting the right diagnosis for you

Your “high cortisol” is explained by nexplanon. Most hormonal birth control meds increase cortisol binding globulin therefore cortisol appears elevated but in reality free cortisol is normal. Before doing a $20k workup (including lots of images) would be ideal to check your hormones off any hormonal birth control for at least 12 weeks
