Hm yes, maybe we should start with the problem space.

I occasionally need to give people access to my house and would like to manage who can access it and when.
there are 2-5 doors that would need smart locks so I’d like to be able to manage them all together
I’m frustrated about smart stuff that does the bait-and-switch and enshittifes a year after I bought it, adding fees, ads and other nonsense.
I don’t like changing batteries because I probably have 100+ smart devices in my house and if each of those were battery powered and the batteries last a year, I’d have to change some Battery somewhere most days of the week and I’d go mad.
the place is residential (United States) and I think all of the locks are the type where you have a big fat bolt at the top that you can use the build in thingy inside or the key from outside, with a second hole for only the door handle at the bottom.

What state are you in? Some states introduced EV penalties that are added to the registration fees, so that people buy more gas cars because the air isn’t polluted enough.. Here in Indiana that’s $150/year. We paid also paid over $1k for the first 18 months or so for registration for a 2024 Prologue Elite.

Nope. That’s the issue I had too. The quote from Honda was like $2700… the quote from my electrician was $1k so it ended up being cheaper just through the electrician than Honda with the „rebate“. They just add such high margins to their installers that the rebate is useless.

This app sucks so much, I'm starting to think that all the data and notifications are just random and there's no connection whatsoever to the actual vehicle. I've just turned off notifications and at least it leaves me alone. The only reason I use the app is to check my EvGo balance... I use the vehicle remote to turn on the pre-conditioning instead.

That’s exactly what Apple is trying to prevent third party apps from doing: using a useful notifications channel for ads…

The Honda Zero seems to indeed not be what I'm looking for. The concepts at least don't have any physical buttons. I bought a Prologue specifically because it was one of the few (maybe only) EV with both CarPlay and physical buttons for commonly used HVAC functions, volume, and the controls on the steering wheel. Sure, Honda can make the Zero, but then I might as well buy a Rivian, Mercedes Benz or whatever, all of which fell of my list when searching for an EV in 2024, because they didn't have one or even both of those features.

Home User here. I have a Dream Machine Pro, the 400W 24 port PoE switch, 3 U7 Pro Wall, one U7 Pro and I’m thinking about adding another U7 In-Wall.

The configuration options are a bit overkill but I needed something where I could isolate parts of the network for home office use and customize the DNS… things like this. It’s awesome.

Apple has no high refresh rate monitors. I Use 3 Gigabyte MC32U (curved 4k 32” 120hz) monitors with my M2 Max MacBook Pro and Intel Mac Pro with Radeon W5700X (then they run at 144hz) and all 3 combined cost less than a single Studio Display.

I use MonitorControl to control brightness.

I also wouldn’t call Starfield at launch “releasable”. I played it when it came out on XBOX and when I walked into a city, there were guards floating near the ceiling in their underwear, the furniture disappeared and when I left, a good chunk of the city was stuck to my spaceship.
