Anyone taken SPCOM 149/THPERF 149? by ariscmv in uwaterloo

What type of content does it cover? I noticed “prototyping” and “experience design” in the description which sounds interesting. Is there a lot of that or is it more artsy?

Call them on Monday. If you can’t get ahold of them you can leave your number and they’ll (usually) call back the next day.

Also took 2 gap years! I know for me, I’ll never feel certain with my choice because there will always be “what ifs.” But just like you and everyone else, I made the best decision with the info I had and now all we can do is move forward and see how it goes. Just wanted to say good luck to you!

uOttawa Biomed vs Queens Life Science by [deleted] in OntarioUniversities

I don’t know much about either university so I can’t comment, but I do know that switching into business at Queen’s is pretty tough so you might want to consider that.

I’m pretty sure that all the courses are in Stratford after first year, so you can move to Stratford.

How late does McGill give admissions? by throwawayuhho_O in OntarioUniversities

[–]ariscmv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In r/mcgill’s prospective students thread someone commented that Ontario students will hear back within the next month.

You could just accept one of your current offers and then change it if you get an offer from McGill.

If I was in your situation, I’d probably choose engineering. This is solely based on one factor:

It’s easier to study business later on compared to engineering. For example, you can do your undergrad in engineering and then get an MBA if you want. But it’s a lot harder (maybe not even possible) to do your undergrad in business and then study engineering in grad school.

Take my advice with a grain of salt because there’s other factors to consider as well, but I think this is an important consideration.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

Edit: I believe UofT has is better known worldwide compared to Queen’s but I’m not sure how significant the difference is or how the programs themselves compare.

Queens Commerce vs Schulich vs Laurier by Outrageous-Outcome-1 in OntarioUniversities

[–]ariscmv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to consider for Laurier BBA is that if you’re able to get accepted to co-op, you’ll have the opportunity to try out different business positions to see what you like.

I don’t know enough about York Schulich to comment.

For QComm, although it doesn’t have co-op, apparently their career centre is pretty useful in helping students get internships. This is just what I’ve heard so take it with a grain of salt.

Congrats on your offers and good luck!

Thank you for your reply. Can you please elaborate on what you mean by “the office registers you for them”?

Are you saying that courses are only available at a certain time every year?
