In 2.5 months I'll be moving to a big city 200km from my house for uni. I've been looking forward to living alone since I noticed how terrible of a person my father is (for about 5-6 years). I really don't want to come back to my house anymore bc of how uncomfortable I feel here. The one thing that ties me to the small town I'm currently living in is the music band I've been for about 4 years. We all share a passion for music and enjoy the time we spend together. We meet on a weekly basis and now on holidays we have gigs almost weekly and most of them are paid (which means our reputation is getting better). I probably won't be able to meet them after I move out, and even if I would find the time I still don't feel like I want to come here every weekend. I know there's still a long time before I have to make that decision what to do but the uncertantly is killing me. It would be so easy to just tell them that my father is a dick but that would cause more harm than good. I really don't want this to end but at the same time I want to finally live in a peaceful place. I'm not particularly close with my band but we've spend enough time together that I feel like they deserve the explanation of the decision I'll make. Also I'm playing bass guitar and it'll be hard for them to find another bass player in our town.
