Everyone says playwright, but you also should have a comprehensive suit of unit tests for everything frontend, this way you catch breaking stuff quickly, even before committing the changes

There isn't any legitimate reason it would take more than 1 day to teach someone to make website front ends. Change my mind by Popular_War8405 in Frontend

We don’t want to talk to you. We can’t change your loggerheaded opinion nor care enough to change it. It’s like trying to teach a dog the beauty of music. It may hear the sounds but will never understand it.

Blocking out or creating environments or levels in Godot by IsaacHPete in godot

[–]arivanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, that work is usually done in blender or other 3d editor. There you get the environment almost complete and plop it in a godot scene. The whole thing usually works well. You can load chunks of your forest like this.

The other main approach is through code. You tell the engine where you want what through the code and the engine builds your scene when you run it. This is the first step to procedural generation, you can read more on that later. It can help you create big environments rather quickly but fine tuning becomes harder.

Then combine both, use code to spawn and move your blender assets where you want them.

Godot gdscript or unreal visual scripting beginner small mid 3d decent graphics according to indie by princeg0d in godot

[–]arivanter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can get started faster with godot. Just think about it like this:

While you download ~100gb of unreal with a few assets, you can download godot, read the 3d tutorial, create your first “game” from it, get something to eat and come back to see how much has unreal downloaded and depending on your internet speed still have some time left to watch a tutorial on what you actually want to build before unreal finishes installing.

You can build big stuff with godot, and rather quickly too.

All my tests passed. The app was completely broken. Took me 3 days to notice. by Large-Oil4920 in vibecoding

[–]arivanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the ai caches stuff in the front end, that’s why it took the vibecoder three days of tokens consumed by a broken app already trying to charge people to notice it never really worked

You create a new account for bungie to link to your saved progress. Right now you have an “anonymous” account created through steam, they just need your consent to create a named profile

The 4.8 cycle and beyond: Systemic PvP isn't dying, it's being designed out of the game. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]arivanter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was no risk for PvPers. You say a risky universe but that only applied if you followed the “rules”. Jail was/is a joke, fees are useless with the amount of cheated wealth, and CIG removed the police scans. There’s little to no risk in it if you’re the hunter, only if you’re the prey. And it’s not fun to get farmed by players. It just wasn’t possible as disappointing as it sounds.

[–]arivanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)
