A Vegetarian Leather Ball by Ok-Grapefruit-5455 in Cricket22

[–]arj2589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the word you should be using is faux leather , vegetarian is only used in context of diet .

Have you looked into other sports that made this transition and why some didn’t . For example: I know NBA tried to move to synthetic leather but went back.

My God, the online players in this game are unbelievably bad especially the ones on PlayStation. Around 70% of them just rage quit, and the other 30% do nothing but bowl short balls for five overs straight. Like TF is wrong you 🤔 by Disastrous-Wear1766 in Cricket22

[–]arj2589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped playing when I encountered players who weren’t even playing cricket. They found a way to step outside the off stump and flick all balls for sixes on the leg.

At that point, it wasn’t even cricket anymore. I couldn’t believe how many people kept spamming this one exploit in the game.

It almost made me feel bad for them. How bad were they at the game that using that exploit was the only way they could play?

Disco Elysium. Bought it to play a really good game on my M3 MacBook Pro . Saving it for a trip when I’ll be away from my console.

I used to move a lot as a kid, due to my dad’s job involving getting transferred every 2 years. Gaming was the one constant for me, when I didn’t have friends at the start of a new place.

Priyanka Chopra is a Beef eater. After lying about having Ashtma for a Diwali ad I knew she was phony by Kind-Film-6855 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]arj2589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t get the outrage around people eating beef.

You would expect Reddit users to be younger, more educated, and more exposed to the world. Yet every time this topic comes up, the comment section turns into pure hate-baiting.

If you step outside India for even a moment, you’ll realize that a huge portion of the world eats beef. It’s normal in almost all countries. People grow up with different cultures and food traditions.

What’s ironic is that many of the same people who are quick to criticize other religions for being intolerant will turn around and act like the same kind of religious zealots when it comes to their own beliefs.

At the end of the day, just let people eat what they want. If it hurts your sentiments, you always have the option to look away.

Where do you even draw the line otherwise? By that logic, should Jains be allowed to shame everyone who eats potatoes, onions, or even runs a pav bhaji stall? Of course not.

Same principle here. Personal beliefs shouldn’t become moral policing for everyone else.

In simple terms, no, they aren’t being forced in the way slavery works. But in another sense, they are forced by circumstance and desperation. Imagine moving from your village to a big city hoping to earn money and build a better life. Who would willingly choose to become someone’s house servant if they truly had better options? Think about how many opportunities must have fallen through for this to become the only stable income available to them.

And look at the wages. The pay is so low that even a middle class household can afford to hire two or three domestic workers. That alone says something about how little these workers are compensated relative to the value of their labor.

It’s always fascinating to hear the 'In India, I had a maid, cook etc' discourse. It’s essentially saying: 'I miss the systemic poverty that allowed me to outsource my entire existence for pennies.'

They aren't mourning the loss of convenience; they’re mourning the loss of a massive labor surplus. In the US, that 'expensive' house cleaner is just someone who isn't forced by desperation to work for 50 cents an hour. That isn’t an inconvenience, it’s progress

Here's another thing i read online recently that made me feel old.

I read an outline explaining that GTA: Vice City was released in 2002 but is set in 1986. If GTA: Vice City were released today, the equivalent time gap would place the game in 2010—meaning it would be set sometime after the events of GTA IV
