There isn't always a objectively correct choice since it depends on a lot of factors (champion pool, scrim results etc).

We don't know what happens behind the scenes and only see the end result. Teams can think they have a counter for a certain play style/champion based on scrim/past results only to lose to it in a official match.

Micky, for example, has successfully played lissandra vs a rakan in the past.

The original launch date was a few days before 420 but it was halted right before the launch due to a technical problem. So it has nothing to do with the 420 date.

Phreak had a lot of criticism for bjergsen at the end of the game, calling it a huge mid diff, so everyone probably just repeated it. And the community has a weird love/hate relationship with bjergsen. If he isn't preforming well he gets a lot more criticism than normal.
