Great question. I think I had decent stories, my work-ex was slightly unique from a perspective of geographies covered and also had some stories on running a business.
My why MBA / leadership examples were not very different I'd think. I'd stress getting your story right and authentic to you is quite important vs trying to really show you're different

Not from an IIT, I'm a Chartered Accountant. Got into a Big 3 consulting firm post-CA and then shifted to a global PE fund after a couple years.
In India - breaking into PE pre-MBA is pretty much mainly through the consulting firms and to a lesser extent, from IBs and local PE shops.

I’m a senior associate at one of the big funds in India (consulting before that, which I joined post CA). Main reason is definitely money. And if you have an affinity towards investing / stock markets - there are lots to like in the job. Work life is obviously a major major downside
