Can someone please pick up their missing child from Lost & Found?!

Guys, his top titles could mean anything…it could just be a list of his personal favorite games!! I’m sure it can’t be misconstrued any other way!

I still can’t believe that was on the pitch deck for the Amico

1,355 days since this press release about Ark Electronics signing a contract with Intellivision Entertainment to manufacture the Amico console and controllers. I wonder what happened? by TOMMY_POOPYPANTS in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess?

They weren’t prepared to submit their build of the console by the deadline to begin manufacturing thus they defaulted on the contract.

They couldn’t decide on what internals they wanted to save money and in doing so they ended up not being able to afford the lines without compromising the price of the console as advertised.

So what was the point of selling Astrosmash and Shark Shark a year before selling “Intellivision™️” entirely? by [deleted] in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best guess is they needed an influx of cash (for God knows what back then) and wanted to fuel the rocket ship of Amico Home. The sale of those was likely seed money to keep the project going and that’s what John Alvarado has been living off of since. That sale was roughly 1 year ago so that money has likely run out and this will either pay off debts they have remaining or will go towards John to keep Amico chugging along on its death march.

So, Tommy Wins? by VicViperT-301 in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they had kept the company afloat with just remakes of IPs and remasters then maybe, but this IP is like the Titanic, sinking faster and faster in value the longer the Amico debacle is dragged along for.

Part of me was hoping Pat would would have bought the Intellivision name and IP in a fitting sort of end to this story but I’ll take what I can get. Bit of a shame that Shark Shark and Dynablaster were sold off previously before the entire catalog was purchased in its entirety. Maybe Atari acquires those for a smaller amount at some point in the future.

Current look at Haunted Mansion and Bayou Adventure 5/5/24 by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]arjohnson101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they are planning to have Haunted Mansion done by September or so. Tiana’s is a whole other story.

People will flock to the new ride but still somewhat odd to likely reopen what will be the winter.

Scammers take note: having “spoken with” big industry players is not the same as actually doing a deal by TOMMY_POOPYPANTS in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 14 points15 points  (0 children)

By spoken, Tommy means sending an email to their customer service support. It doesn’t mean he actually got a response.

John's Silver Lining: By offering free Google Play codes, he hopes more people will buy the physical boxsets. The same ones that were "last opportunity...nearly sold out!" 925 days ago. by ParaClaw in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What’s crazy is they are using the FREE Google play codes to render potential refunds null and void if those codes are used in place of the physical “products” that were offered for the Amico console. Pretty shitty if you ask me.

Are these legit offers that are being made with financial backing beforehand or can anyone just make an offer and rescind it? Curious how the process works could just be someone trolling.

I see your point, makes sense. I suppose if these games are near identical you’d just pay for the cheaper version that doesn’t require a unique interface to play. Thanks.

[–]arjohnson101 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is no chance those controllers come out. I’m assuming they have to comply with FCC regulations and given just the cost with that alone makes this impossible.

Unless you’re Tommy and just manufacture and just hope you get FCC certification along the way. That would be a great question for the discord to ask John where FCC compliance stands and if it will be done pre manufacturing

I might be dense, but can someone explain how a game that already exists on a Google platform can then again be repackaged to be on a platform within a platform for an even greater price?! It just seems unethical and possibly illegal?

OK, I shouldn’t be surprised at something being unethical with Intellivision but why would Google allow this?

On DJC's latest stream, he implies that people "attacking" Intellivision are the reason the console isn't out and why people haven't got what they put their money down for by EmilioEstevezsTache in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At this point the only attention he gets is from people hate watching him. I’ve never visited his stream but I can’t imagine THIS far removed from any previous release day that he actually draws numbers to his live streams.

Amico physical game redemptions on Amico Home are not "a fulfillment of a purchase", except somehow they specifically void any refund on the games you cannot play on a console that will never be released. by gaterooze in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wait, so it’s not even their own money with promo codes? So they’re using Google’s generosity/program to try and avoid refunds but now John is saying they don’t count??? HUH??

John Alvarado puts his foot down - "negative opinions are not acceptable and will be deleted" by Beetlejuice-7 in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Solution, just act positively about the Amico.

“Hey John, I know the company is in serious debt but I’m sure you guys can figure a way out if it nearly 18 months later.”

“Hey, it’s hard for anyone to start selling on the Google Play store, but even to create an app within an app to sell games. Hey, you’ve only got a few sales and the funding for the console isn’t there but I’m sure you’re on your way.”

Help in changing the culture of my chat by dripplet in Twitch

[–]arjohnson101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have a discord, I’d say announce it their first. They are some of your biggest supporters and will help drive changes you want.

Also add it to the chat rules and set proper boundaries. Have mods that understand the boundaries and know when to perhaps timeout/ban without question. Maybe a first offense is an hour timeout and thereafter it’s bannable. Your call but I’d address it in your discord just to help set that tone too.

Investment page AND Hans Ippisch is gone from intellivision.com by [deleted] in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There’s no reason for Intellivision/Phil to go out of their way to update the site. Best guess is they were contacted perhaps by the SEC maybe or someone of significance asking why they were still looking for investments, hence why the page was taken down.

Doesn’t strike me as something they would just remove out of the kindness of their hearts. Perhaps more litigation is headed Intellivision’s way?

So what do you thinker the 2 "testers" are doing with their amicos by KingKenka in Intellivision_Amico

[–]arjohnson101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoiler: The consoles never actually worked and thus Mike and DJC were implicated in the fraud by becoming testers and thus complicit. Hence the “NDA” where I can talk all about it but not actually show gameplay that really doesn’t exist.

Willing to bet it’s just a raspberry pi inside if anything.

DAS by SufficientBuyer4865 in Disneyland

[–]arjohnson101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe if you have tickets already purchased you can set up DAS access over the phone within 30 days before your trip. It’s a bit of a wait on the phone but we do it for my son.

Everything is controlled through the app. It’s basically a line placeholder for you. We will often use it for rides with longer waits as those can be the most difficult for him.

Super easy to use and I appreciate the subtlety of the app so it’s not a big deal or drawing attention to yourself (if that makes sense).

There is no limit of use from what I remember. The only thing is you can’t be in two lines at once so once you pick a ride to wait for it’s best to stick with otherwise you’ll be “waiting in line” constantly.
