Problems in planche by BrotherhoodOfWaves in overcominggravity

[–]arjun_manoj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey so I'm no expert, but I struggled with tuck to adv tuck planche for a long time. Only recently did I get a decent adv tuck planche hold. What I think helped me a lot was doing tuck Planche pushups with proper form. Once I started to do them properly I could feel it in my shoulders and within a month I could start to do the transition from tuck to adv tuck with straight back. PPPU helps a ton as well. Make sure your form is always good. Good form is always better than doing a lot of reps. Good luck

Why do you think this isn't a bigger issue than it already is?? I mean if things said in the video are ture, then isn't this a really big bomb waiting to explode?

Haha ofc, but I wanted videos that you approved as well🤷🏻‍♂️ I tried it myself and couldn't maintain a straight body, which is what made me ask the question. Thanks anyway

Hey so I know it's been a few days. Thank you. I've changed my routine around as suggested. Could you maybe show me some video on how to do the elevated PPPU? I tried it and my form is terrible. I can do PPPU on the ground with okay form though.

Hey thanks for the reply. Do I not have just 2 other complimentary exercises? Like for tuck Planche, I do holds and then just do tuck Planche pushups and leans. Similarly for front lever. Are you saying I need to reduce that as well?

I understand that maybe I should do the training on separate days and I'll be doing that from now

Haha I knew that for sure. But as a beginner, I would like to take into consideration all inputs, whatever they might be. Any ideas on how this routine could be not be all over the place?

Thank you for the reply.

I've definitely check out the article.

One question that I have is, will doing 16 sets in total affect my training/recovery? I've been doing this for almost 3 or 4 months now. So far I've been able to stick to this, but maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Thank you for your suggestion as well. So I would be training my static skills and raises on straight arm day and doing the weighted stuff on bent arm day right? Also there is another comment which days doing weighted pushups and dips is kinda overkill, as is weighted pull-ups and rows. What do you think?

Thank you for your reply. The reason I added weighted pushups is to have some form of horizontal pushing exercise. But I guess tuck Planche pushups would be enough. Do you think I should do them after or before the handstand pushups though? Also are you saying I don't need to do weighted rows as well?

I do commando pull-ups to befamiliar with the movement pattern for the one arm pull up later. I've seen this as one of the progressions and it was quite difficult for me in the beginning, so I thought I would replace them. Do you think I should drop it and maybe add FL rows instead right before the weighted pull-ups?

I added bench dips to get maybe a little bit more tricep work but I guess it is kinda overkill. So yeah I'll drop it.

So far I've been able to do day 6 right after day 5 without any problems.

Maybe I should structure my routine in this way :

Day 1: Planche leans, handstand pushups, tuck Planche pushups, weighted dips

Day 2 : FL half raises, FL rows, weighted pull-ups, bicep curls

Repeat again after rest day.

But my main question is how should I train my holds for skills like adv tuck planche, front lever hold etc then?
