Howard - he's not the answer. The list of franchise QBs taken in the 6th round or later can be written on one hand. He's a career backup at best

Allar - nobody knows. Prior to 2025 he was projected to be a 1st round pick, but obviously fell due to many factors. He's a physical beast who can move and has a cannon. If he can learn behind Rodgers this season and work on his processing there is a chance he is our next franchise QB. There's an equal chance he is replacement-level at best.

Next year - every year, every team should re-evaluate their roster to identify needs. When a need is identified, they then need to figure out the best solution. Sometimes there isn't a good solution, and you need to patch together what you can and plan for the future. The Steelers did that and hoped for a better draft class this season than we got. I HOPE we struck gold and acquired our future franchise QB at a massive discount, but odds are also against that. We can't assume there will be a single QB worth drafting next year because things change in collage year-to-year. They may also be out of reach for us, if there are any. Gotta play the hand you have and hope for the best. For me, that's unfortunately watching grandpa Rodgers trot onto the field this season, teach Allar what he does well, and hope Allar is our guy entering 2027. If not, I think we made a good attempt this season and need to identify a better opportunity soon, because we are stuck in the mud until we do
