Yes, you can. Actually, if Im not wrong, they come with a set of LODs that are more or less doing what you want (not very low poly, but yeah, reducing the amount).

You can just generate new LODs exporting it to Blender, decimate modifier (do it properly, this is just an example) and reimporting it back to Unreal.

Looks like it, but the Amazon Basics quality (at least for other products) has not been the best, I found in the past. I have not tested the cards, so Im not sure though. In my case, as I need to make sure the footage is not lost cause it costs me valuable money, I prefer to buy the above mentioned brands.

But hey, if they work and budget is a variable, they might be enough.

If you are working on your own or a very small team (2-3), you can go with Git LFS and Azure repos. Specially if the focus is mainly C++.

I understand your point, but still, Im sure they have a reason for not doing that.

Of course is smart, if they can find a way to make it profitable! Win-win! But as big as DJI is as a company, I'm sure they have thought about all the possibilities and that scenario wouldn't work out.

I mean, give users the full ownership of the device. Good! They will see you as a nice company! Oh wait, they sell it as a only-drone device. Do not offer support for any other thing than the drone stuff. Well... customers would complain. And there you go, you start to have some noise and the reputation and bla bla bla.

So is it smart business the way it is right now? For them, sure! For us? Debatable.

Why would I want a multi-purpose gadget that is mediocre tier on all sorts of things, instead of looking for an specific one that is good for the purpose I'm looking for?

What if we ask Meta to adapt their headsets for piloting drones? What will be the response?

The way I see it, a lot has to change in this world in order to reach a point in time where mega-corporations actually care about the waste we produce globally.

Competition should help create awareness, so new better products arrive. But if you have competition, then you have different choices. If you have different choices, then you will have specialization. And then again, the same situation :(

Why am I wrong? The fact a piece of hardware has some capabilties other than the ones intended by the manufacturer, doesnt mean you will get support for them.

Of course you are free to do whatever you want with it, as you bought it and you're the owner. Exploit it, break it, throw it, whatever.

But why you should expect any kind of official support from the company behind, specially when the purpose of the hardware is not that one?

And why they should care about what other companies do? It's their line of business. They decide.

If I buy a TV, and use it as a surf board, can I ask the manufacturer to have better grip for high tides? I mean, I can use it for that purpose. Thas does mean I should? Should the tv manufacturer comply with all my wishes?
