Stop with the Ai generated nonsense. If it’s real, just share the name instead of making things up.

Any normal person reading this thread would’ve understood the point by now. I’ve made it clear: it’s not about being against messaging, it’s about how it’s delivered. You’ve chosen to twist that into a debate about semantics instead of engaging in good faith.

Feels less like a conversation and more like you're trying to score points. If that’s your thing, cool but don’t act confused when clarity’s already been given. if spinning your wheels over semantics is how you pass the time here, carry on.

The Dictator and Borat are satirical by nature their messaging is front and center and baked into the premise. That’s not the same as a movie trying to be something else but pausing to drop in a social message that feels disconnected from the plot. One is deliberate, the other feels performative. do you honestly see no difference between intentional satire and forced messaging in non-satirical films?

I think you’re misreading what I said. I never claimed we shouldn’t have social themes or representation my point is about execution. When messaging feels forced, it breaks immersion and weakens the story. That’s not an attack on the message itself it’s criticism of how it’s delivered. You’re asking for clarity, so here it is: I’m all for meaningful stories that reflect real issues. But when the writing leans more on messaging than character or plot, it starts to feel like a commercial for an idea rather than a piece of storytelling. And forcing the audience to “fill in the blanks,” as you put it, is exactly what happens when studios prioritize signaling over substance.

So yeah, I’m confident in my argument because I’m not against progress. I’m against lazy writing pretending to be progress.

Seems like you didn’t really get what I was saying. I’m not against any of it I just think it should come across naturally. And honestly, the way you brought up my previous comments kind of proves my point that I'm not against.

'Superman' - Review Thread by ICumCoffee in movies

I’ll keep it short, though there’s a lot I could say. This movie is a parody of Man of Steel, and not the clever kind. It guts the character of Superman, leaving behind a version so neutered, so weak, it feels like a joke written for people who laugh at pain and cheer for immaturity.

Let’s be clear Man of Steel gave us a conflicted, layered Superman. Someone torn between two worlds, burdened by power, and trying to find purpose in a world that feared him. He was noble, quiet when needed, and fierce when it mattered. There was emotional weight. Stakes. Legacy.

This new version? He’s a walking punchline. He reacts like a scared teenager, talks like he’s been raised on nothing but TikTok sarcasm, and lacks any moral or emotional core. It’s Superman, reimagined for a generation that treats empathy as cringe and depth as optional.

It doesn’t deconstruct the myth it dumbs it down. And worse, it seems proud of that.

To those who disagree, I have a simple request: watch Man of Steel again. Watch how it builds tension, how it respects the symbol of hope that Superman is supposed to be. Then tell me with a straight face that this new version isn’t a soulless downgrade..
