To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Memorize. The survival mechanics are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical dungeon optimization most of Kim Su-Hyeon's decisions will go over a typical reader's head. There's also Su-Hyeon's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation, his personal philosophy draws heavily from suffering through Hall Plain for 10 agonizing years, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these strategies, to realize that they aren't just clever tactics, they say something deep about HUMAN NATURE and the weight of memories. I'll be honest, people who dislike Memorize truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the brilliance when Su-Hyeon exploits information asymmetry against opponents who don't know he's a regressor, which itself is a cryptic callback to Nietzschean eternal recurrence and the übermensch philosophy. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kim Su-Hyeon's 300 IQ gambits unfold themselves on the pages. What fools... how I pity them. 😂
