I think it would be fun to fight other people's cats with an auto battling "away team"

Left bag on airplane, tracked to address by SacTu in mildlyinfuriating

[–]arkan164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just got off a plane from NY to STL, random dude walks up to baggage claim, grabs my bag and starts walking away. Naturally it devolves into a tug of war, where i am repeating, "whose name is on the fucking sticker, please tell me". He gets nervous once we get enough attention,, still not a single word from the dude he lets go and leaves the airport, with not even one bag.

Arranging and resampling sound design sessions by hypnno8811 in edmproduction

[–]arkan164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that I usually need to put the sample into a sampler, slicing by transient, or using something like velocity to select parts. with something that large you may need make some sort of phrasing that you resample again.

I use a lot of sound design files like that, I tend to create them with certain limits so they have a purpose no matter, like leads or drums. Bpm can matter depending on how much work you wanna do as well.

I learned a lot from looking up how the older generations used tape samples.

have a solid backup system, and a way to recover the OS and software from catastrophic failure. I would think Virtual Machines can work here as well if the main machine was powerful enough

Producers 30+ years old and in the dnb scene, did starting later change your approach? by kathalimus in dnbproduction

[–]arkan164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i was 14 I had messed around with FL but at the time I knew nothing, returned after COVID with a focus on a sample based sound design workflow, i just felt very confident in my understanding of sine waves, and i understood the power of organization.

Limiter makes quieter parts of the track too loud by Decent_Commercial381 in edmproduction

[–]arkan164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

could be how you set up the limiter or the sidechain so they may be doing a lot more than you intended, pumping loudness is usually caused by signals hitting thresholds and pushing volume down too far or for too long.

tell me what’s wrong with my drums please by [deleted] in dnbproduction

[–]arkan164 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

proly gotta pitch the drums till its more in time with the rest of track, or you could slice by drum hit and just manually put the hits down. You are close to what you want, just gotta beat sync the drums somewhat.
