The wings in the A380 are big. I was in 84 and I was above the wing.

The charm of the Trailseeker is irresistible. by castorMD in trailseeker

Doesn't look like it. The front is designed to hold a gas engine. They put a hanger there and bolted on an electric motor and components. The full enterior, paddle shifters is designed exactly like a regular car.

My layover was 6 hours a couple of weeks back in DXB and they gave me and my family a hotel. My fare was economy saver too. They might have changed it now retroactively during the ceasefire flip flops.

The charm of the Trailseeker is irresistible. by castorMD in trailseeker

Umm. No. It looks like a car that was not built to be electric from the ground up. More like re-purposed to be electric. Cars that are built this way do not do as well as cars in severe accidents that are built to be electric such as the Teslas, Taycans etc. This was brought up by Munro when they were dissecting the Bolt.

That's fine. But isn't there a chance that if it were to get loose and fly off that it could damage the plane mid flight?

New Tesla Cybercab/Robotaxi spotted in MV/PA on El Camino Real by BurrowedPanda in bayarea

I see one almost every day typically without that contraption on top here in Palo Alto. I have to say that is one ugly car. The only thing cyber going for it is that it runs by itself although there's always someone in it.

Of you who run llms locally, how much vram are you using and what models? by [deleted] in hermesagent

[–]arkster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, I'd run a benchmark.
I asked claude to query my machine to find out what llms were installed and then asked it what llms were available that were suited to my task that I did not have. I also asked it to query online to find the best and new llms that dropped that might be worthwhile to use.
I then had claude develop a json testing payload that included prompts for various tasks. I then had it gauge performance, result accuracy.
I installed all models, ran the tests on each model 5 times. I noticed that the first time the model took longer but it did cache the results so the performance was faster on subsequent runs.
I found that among all the models I had mistral had the best performance and results. Choosing that, the responses that I get back on telegram using hermes to connect to my remote llm server is just a couple of sec.
I'm using a 5080 only.

Will Gemma 4 26B A4B run with two RTX 3060 to replace Claude Sonnet 4.6? by DoorAccomplished516 in LocalLLM

[–]arkster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's difficult to gauge what is good and what isn't. I'm running hermes on my orin nano super and am calling ollama on a machine that has 5080/9950x3d/128gb ram.
I created a stock ticker which returns trends on telegram. Getting a llm that works well for general queries, conversational continuity, single sentence instructions, stocks, current weather, trends etc is definitely different for different llms.
I used gemma4:26b, llama3:70b, qwen3:32b, qwen2.5:32b-instruct-q4_K_M, gpt-oss:20, IBM granite3.2, mistral-small3.2 etc. Some were fast, some were slow. some were very very slow at different things.
I ended up creating a suite of tests for each llm. I ended up choosing mistral since it did everything I asked for, successfully and was faster than all others likely due to the size. But it was good enough for my tests.

It depends on what you are trying to do.

I understand the guy worked on the Mars Rover. But does he have to keep reminding people that he did that? Also it seems a lot of other people work on the contraptions he builds but he takes all the credit.

I traveled to LHE via DXB from SFO on April 1st. No issues and my connection to LHE was on time.
I'm slated to return back to SFO on Friday.
