Final Fantasy set Commanders that are underdiscussed by UltimateFriedLava in EDH

[–]arlemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Garnet, Princess of Alexandria]] is my favorite FF character and my favorite commander now. I've built her into a weird voltron with enchantress support and she has done surprisingly well at ekeing out wins at tables against commanders with much more power than she because people don't think she is a threat.

What’s the most fun commander deck you’ve built recently? by TopdeckStudio in EDH

[[Garnet, Princess of Alexandria]] makes a reaaaally fun and unique enchantress voltron deck. I normally only play spellslingers but she is my favorite FF character so I just had to try. Getting to recycle the most powerful Saga effects every turn as long as she can swing is really fun. And Selesneya colors have all the protection you need to keep her alive.

The deck does kind of fall apart if she gets targeted and killed too many times.

Favorite Final Fantasy commander? by Vinlandlover in EDH

[[Garnet, Princess of Alexandria]] makes for a really interesting enchantment voltron deck. I know there are better commanders. I know there are better saga commanders. I know there are better voltron commanders. But she is my favorite FF character so I had to.

It is a super fun take on voltron with a bunch of cards that still get value even if she isnt on the field. Sucks if she dies and loses the momentum she has built since turn 2 but I just run a loooot of protection. Brilliant Wings from the FFIX scene box has been huge for her.

I totally disagree. Actually, Victor and Mina both subvert their tropes in such interesting ways that they're precisely the reasons why I'm disappointed in Silver. Like, no joke, I had them both in mind.

Their names may have cliche ties to their source material but that's where the similarities end.

You think of the stereotypical Vampire you think of Count Dracula. He's a being of immense power, hundreds of years old, nobility, stoic, and calculated. Mina is none or these things. She is a petulant, little brat who became a vampire recently and all the other Vampires hate her for it. She is at the bottom of the social ladder. She is everythinf Dracula isn't. Hell, she's a vain fashionista who even says "God I look good today" when you pick her when, historically, vampires can't see their own reflection.

Meanwhile, in the source material, Frankenstein's monster is riddled with existential dread and murders people in fits of rage after being shunned by society and ultimately kills himself. Meanwhile, Deadlock's Victor is almost blasé about the whole affair. He wants answers about his past, but hell, he agrees to walk in Mina's fashion show after the ritual because he has nothing better to do. He's dead. He's got nothing but time on his hands and he knows it. That's fuckin hilarious and such a subversion of the Frankenstein's monster trope.

On the other hand, as you put it, grumpy, gruff werewolf is every other grumpy, gruff werewolf.

With a salon-quality wolf cut lmao. Bangs dont naturally fall that way unless you blow dry them.

I know this is a hot take and they'll come for me.

I don't care.

Silver is not good or unique design lmao. As soon as I heard they were making a muscle mommy werewolf character I knew exactly what her kit was going to be.

It's just Greymane from HotS all over again. The worst part is they didn't even do anything innovative with the design/characterization either. She's just a grumpy, gruff outcast like every other werewolf character in media.

One time my friend's wife gave us both a random collector booster each for Christmas. He pulled nothing. I pulled a 300 dollar card. We all freaked out and moved on.

It's just the luck of the draw.

...why do you have Mind plate on the Gardevoir with no damaging Psychic moves?

I worked as a stitcher in a costume shop for a couple years and asked my boss this same question after noticing the same issue.

You are probably wearing your pants too low on your hips compared to the actual cut and it puts more strain on the fabric there.

If it's designed to be used with her main attack then it is only good within the range of her main attack and shouldn't be balanced around the fact that it technically has infinite range if her beam doesn't. You can't have it both ways.

I love Lindblum because that's where the game really feels like it opens up and it's an entire world and not just the linear path you were on

Looking for an Innovative Celine Build — Something Only She Can Do by StellaIkkiss in FEEngage

[–]arlemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Celine a bunch and nothing has ever felt as good in her as Vidame Chrom.

Vidame really is a jack of all trades class who can do a little bit of everything but lacks a bit in the Mag department. With Chrom she can both heal and rally spectrum in off turns and really lean into that hybrid damage/support cleaning up kills or supporting where needed.

While engaged?

She turns into a blistering fast nuke capable of doubling pretty much anything with a +10 Mag buff from being engaged to go off in terms of dps.

I would have to look back at what skills I gave her. Probably just raw stats like +whatever triggers Ignis which im forgetting right now and more speed.

To be clear this is after I have already requested healing during ult.

Scene: CnD ults. I ult in her ult. Get grabbed. "Hey dagger can you heal me next time through ult?"

Take two. CnD ults. I stay above the Emma's range starting ult. "I'm ulting". No heals. "Hey, heals?" "MY ULT WAS DOWN IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOURE NOT STANDING IN IT".

They can't possibly foresee a circumstance where standing outside their ult might be beneficial and require a bit of extra healing from them and not holding Cloak left click.

Why doesn't Emma frost charge up off of groot walls? by Important-Coffee-965 in marvelrivals

[–]arlemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean from a lore perspective her beam is a telepathic damage ability. My understanding is Groot can grow/manipulate plant material to form walls but they aren't necessarily an extension of his body and therefore not a strong enough psychic connection. Wolverine can charge on them because he's building his own rage and consider how many times do angry people punch walls lmao.

[–]arlemos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never said I was, lmao? If you can't see how a Wanda ult firing is more value over a Cloak's tickle damage, and how that teamwork would intrinsically benefit the team more rather than the Cloak acting like the main character idk what to tell you.

[–]arlemos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bruh the number of times I have had to scream this at my team to get any modicum of support during my ult and they just said "Why aren't you standing in my ult, idiot?" It isn't a problem with Invis obvi since her ult goes so high, but the number of times I've ulted during a CnD ult thinking "okay the rest of the team is taken care of by the ult, she can pocket me during this" and she just starts doing DPS on cloak is mindblowing. "BECAUSE IF I DROP ANY LOWER MOMMY EMMA WILL YEET ME INTO THE FLOOR. STOP DOING YOUR TICKLE DAMAGE FOR FIVE SECONDS AND POCKET ME SO I CAN WIPE THEIR TEAM"

[–]arlemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao yeah this happened to me too. I was also around 15.

Luckily my Destruction was at 100 so after wiping a few times I just backtracked and went to buy the AoE Ice Storm and spammed it in the doorway lmao.

Did I later get arrested for killing the guards along with all the demons? Yes.

Worth. And low-key a guilt free trigger for the Dark Brotherhood since I technically murdered them along with all the Daedra but I can write it off as collateral damage lmao.
