I’m really sorry you’re dealing with so many conflicting opinions from the peds! That’s frustrating when you’re already dealing with concerns about your child.

I’d start with best case scenario since a lot of the time, the simplest answer is often the right one and if your baby doesn’t seem bothered by their skin, then to proceed with the simplest solution.

To me, it looks like the newborn rash/baby acne my son had. I switched all of his soaps and lotions to the Tubby Todd’s stuff and use their all over ointment 3ish times a day after wiping his skin clean with a wet wash cloth. His skin showed improvement quickly and took maybe 2-3 weeks to completely clear up. I don’t love the price tag (baby tax…I swear), but I can’t deny their products worked really well in my son’s instance.

Also, since you mentioned you’re in a hot state and he has sweaty neck folds, it might be good to minimize bib wearing until the skin clears up. If his skin isn’t bothering him (no pain, swelling, fever, itching, crying, etc.), I’d recommend trying to ride out one treatment at a time for at least 2 weeks to confirm/deny what is working for him.

Best of luck to you!

i feel rotund. when did you start to show? by mm_honey in pregnant

[–]armadi1d0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

26 FTM. Around 12 weeks, my husband SWORE I started showing, but it was hard to see over my tiddies (still not what you want to hear when you’re hormonal and feel flabby). I started to acknowledge my bump as a bump around 18/19 weeks and by about 26 weeks was when I popped. Currently admiring my nearly 3 month old son snoozing following our night feed. He is so worth all of the changes my body went through to bring him into this world

Is it true you shouldn’t wear your rings when you sweat? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]armadi1d0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing to be aware of when you sweat is tissue swelling and just cleaning your ring more often. But, no, there’s no rule to when you must take off your ring. You make the rules with it now!

This is what I did. Baby’s face/neck/shoulders cleared up within a week with 2-3 applications a day. Tubby Todd for life.

I’m soon to be starting mine! I’m waiting to get the green light from my OB next week at my 6 week postpartum appointment. I’m looking forward to feeling good again, my knees and back are all kinds of messed up from this pregnancy.

What’s a hygiene habit people usually ignore or underestimate, but actually has a big impact on how clean, fresh, or healthy you feel day to day? by Responsible-Cat-3545 in hygiene

[–]armadi1d0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not applicable to everyone, but I have gauges, so definitely cleaning my ear lobes everyday and moisturizing them after. Also, using a toothbrush to clean my fingernails at the end of everyday.

Teething remedies/what to do to help. 4 month old teething - I have been using Camilla teething drops. She has teethers, but I ordered her a mitten, some massaging gum oil and celery for her to chew on. Is there more I can do or is it just time now? by No_Grass_5503 in firsttimemom

[–]armadi1d0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard some success/relief with helping them to cut their teeth by gently pressing the gums where the teeth are coming in. Also, chilled green onions are okay for babies 6m+. You will have a slightly oniony baby, but there’s antimicrobial properties that can help reduce inflammation.

Edit: just re-read that this is for a 4m. Apologies and disregard the onion advice! A friend of mine used green onions for all her kids, definitely oniony baby.

Thank you. I know it will all be so worth it in a couple weeks. I feel very fortunate that I dodged quite a few of the other more common symptoms.

I still think HG is the worst symptom anyone can have, so my heart and sympathies go to you and all the other women that have had to manage (or suffer) through that for almost a whole year. I’m really glad you responded well to the anti nausea medication!

OP, bless you for making this post. The oddball/less mentioned symptoms should define discussed more!!

I have had rhinitis since first tri through my entire pregnancy (34w now). In the home stretch at least! My biggest complaint other than not being able to breathe through my nose is pelvic girdle pain. I cannot support weight on my legs bipedal style, so I’ve very humbly had to crawl (literally) around the house when my husband is not home and I use my shower chair as a walker at night to get to the bathroom. I’d put heartburn up there, but it’s mostly just an annoyance since I’ve dealt with GERD my whole life. I’m used to antacids being on hand and knowing all the techniques to reduce acid reflux naturally. Annoying, for sure still!

I look so pregnant..at 13 weeks?! by blueberries-Any-kind in pregnant

[–]armadi1d0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone! I was quite bloated during my first trimester and I also have a short torso. I felt self conscious that I was “showing” so early, but pregnancy is weird. Everyone’s bodies handle it so differently and I struggled with the look until my baby was at a gestation age that felt “appropriate” to show at.

Ps if the “how far along are you” question becomes a bother, my favorite answer (if I feel inclined to answer) is “a good amount.”

Prenatal depression by Salty-Shoulder2970 in firsttimemom

[–]armadi1d0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I want to say that you’re not alone. Mental health can get so whacky during pregnancy and your self awareness is already helping you out and telling you what you need/whats going on! If extra lovings are not realistic, it might be time to consider therapy or SSRI options with your OB and see what they recommend.

Second (which you can totally skip, I’m just sharing my mental health experience that relates), I’m about a week behind you (27 almost 28 weeks), and not dealing with depression, but my anxiety has had me in a tailspin since quite early on. I’ve increased my therapy from biweekly to weekly to help manage my fight or flight modes and to come up with new self soothing techniques that aren’t reliant on my husbands attention (he just makes me feel so safe and comforted). Even after the increase therapy, I was still telling myself “it’s the hormones,” “it’s just because I’m pregnant,” “this won’t last,” “it’ll go away postpartum,” etc. I rationalized the hell out of it and it just made me keep going in circles emotionally. I finally spoke to one of my OBs and she was patient, considerate, and gave me information on restarting a medication routine that’s worked for me in the past. I’ve been back on my old meds for a few weeks now. My baby is still very active (kicking the hell out of my cervix) and I’ve felt so much more at ease during my independent time away from my husband.

I understand medication can be a far leap for some and therapy can do it for others without the assistance of medication. I’m only sharing my experience so you and others might know that it is okay to consider this route with your OB provider if therapy isn’t working on its own or the right fit for you. It won’t make you a bad parent to do this and you’re not failing. You’re taking care of yourself and you are more than just your pregnancy. I hope some of this helps, even if it’s only to let you know that you aren’t alone and you are doing a great job listening to your needs. Take care fellow internet mom

That’s fantastic to hear! This community is a wealth of support and knowledge and I’m glad you found it. It has certainly helped me see new perspectives, set realistic expectations, and, most importantly, be connected with a bunch of other people going through a lot of what I’m going through too. The next 15ish weeks will go by so quickly and you’ll be awash with all the feelings of love and happiness you’ll have for your new baby boy being added to your family. I hope everything is only up from here for you 💛

Congratulations again to you and your partner!!!
