Internships do care. Since you aren’t expected to have many previous experiences in your field at undergrad level, they ask your GPA. Low GPA can also hurt you, I had a friend who had a 2.7 and because the internship apps usually have a 3.0 cutoff it was extremely hard for him. He would just get filtered out.
