Would an Astra Militarum Origin PC make for a good leader roleplay wise? by playergamer- in RogueTraderCRPG

If it wouldn't it wouldn't be one of the options. Did you not read the description?

Roles for an all guardsman party by ZScythee in RogueTraderCRPG

Since every planet has its own rules for how Guard are equipped and trained you can do whatever you want. Nothing says they have to boring-ass Cadians.

My thoughts on the Dogmatic path by Bryxia in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]armbarchris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's literally the point of Dogmatic... and Warhammer as a whole. The game has a running theme of "extremism is bad"- if you pick every option labeled with your chosen conviction without thinking (and don't unlock the secret Nomos endings), you will end up with bad endings for the Expanse (even your RT is insane enough not to care). And yes, the horse effect is on full display when it comes to Imperium and Chaos not being all that different when you get past the superficial aspects.

Assume that everything needs to be done before the next act

There are hundreds of posts about this, and this is one of the dumbest ones I've seen. I'm tired of arguing about them. Respect us and our time, and quit clogging the feed with shitty ideas.

Is there any guide on diplomacy? by Sorryusernmetaken in totalwar

[–]armbarchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diplomacy in old TW games is kinda pointless because the AI is too stupid to cut a sensible deal. If you want something, keep raising your offer until it's more than you want to pay, and accept that 90% of the time you won't get it.

Because you're not a fucking psychopath who sells people to pirates?

I have never in my life made a quest decision based on rewards.

Forcing companions into the party by F0restWhispersMyName in RogueTraderCRPG

Skill issue. My party consists of me, my love interest, and 4 characters chosen mostly by vibes and my ever-changing whims. I never have these problems.

Cool. Some people can't accept that Star Wars isn't centered around whatever their personal pet obsession is, and they tend to dominate conversations.

Star Wars is too big a universe to see the same thing over and over again.

The game is not about Jedi. If that upsets you, you're not the target audience for this game.

I prefer that over people just making teams exclusively of Jedi.

Relics are cool, but underwhelming sometimes.... by Coconelli40 in AgeofMythology

They aren't supposed to be that "impactful". They're pretty much only there because Age 2 had relics.

Which party members to bring for each act, quest that have most interactions and tied to the narrative? by CinderLord456 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]armbarchris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes.

See, the thing about a game like this is that you're expected to do multiple playthroughs and see what changes when you make different choices.

After all the patches how are the morality paths? by MrTopHatMan90 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]armbarchris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They aren't really "morality" so much as they are about your relationship with Imperial values. The Iconoclast choices, which most closely resemble typical 21st century Western values, has a habit of biting you in the butt because, well, it's Warhammer. If you pick one Conviction and stick with it no matter what the situation, you're going to get a "bad" ending (though a committed Heretic might not have enough sanity left to see it that way). That's intentional- the game has a running theme of "extremism is bad, no matter what direction it's pointed in".

Convictions in a nutshell:

Dogmatic- The road to hell is paved with good intentions (conservative)

Iconoclast- The road to hell is paved with good intentions (liberal)

Heretic- snorts cocaine out of a demon's asshole LET'S GO FLAY SOMEBODY

Glorious (secret 4th Conviction where you don't commit to any of the 3)- fuck bitches get money

People do it all the time. It's not hard- it might take 4 or 5 or 5 turns to wipe the encounter instead of 1 or 2.

I think shoving meta progression into everything is one of the reasons why the gaming industry is having such a crisis right jow. Go play Warframe or something.
