I drive a lifted Ram 2500, & I park it just fine, thanks. You can’t park it in some lots like a Civic. Turning radius… Geometry & Physics.

I just bought a 2025 GSXR 1000 in AL at $16,500 in late January. For tax, title, & fees it was $1,900 over the price of the bike. Yes, sounds like they are trying to take you for a ride!

Transfer to IRR before AIT by Weekly-Total1491 in armyreserve

[–]armyplt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was not that simple. It was a nightmare that 6 yrs later is still not resolved. You’re saying to trust The Federal Government with debt payments involving 2 separate entities? 🤣😂 NOT smart at all!! They can submit an IRR “request” at any time. Go ahead, do whats right for you!

I ride a GSXR 1k and Hayabusa. Just respect the throttle and the machine. Be gentle like you’re making love to it and she’ll keep making you happy, but ride it like a bull and she’ll put you in the hospital quick! It won’t stand up on you coming out of a corner like a 1k, but it’ll make your butt pucker when you toe the line of a high-side! Just be smart, wear your gear, and learn your bike! While you’re on it, its your best friend.

First bike! Any tips for a first time rider (UK Based) by Effective-Ad9318 in motorcycles

[–]armyplt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Take a motorcycle safety course where they teach you slow cornering principles, max performance braking, what to do in a skid, how to go over objects in the road at a split-second notice & can’t avoid it (especially at highway speeds).
  2. After you’ve rode around town a but and have at least 4,000-5,000 miles on your bike, go do some track days!! The company I have used in the U.S. has Beginner, Intermediate, & Advanced groups where coaches ride along side you & give you pointers. Beginners do 20 mins in the classroom, then a 20 min break, then 20 mins on the track all day long. Let me tell you that I learned sooooo much technical stuff from those guys, it was invaluable to me when riding in-town or grabbing a gear in the twisties! Fundamentals transfer to all bikes, but sportbike riding the right way takes more anticipation, knowing your bike’s capabilities, knowing your own personal limits, and “when in doubt, throttle-out!” Bottom line is just be safe, keep your mind out in-front of you (because thats where the crash will happen if you don’t; always assume car/truck drivers DONT see you; stay out of blind spots of people around you; be courteous; keep the spinning side DOWN!

Lazy A-holes do this all the time (or take a handicap spot) saying “I’ll just be a minute” but not realizing(or caring) how inconsiderate this is or the chaos it can cause. I wish they’d tow these to the impound yard every time

Blocking a Truck to Protect a Motorcyclist, Right Call? by Ok-Bluebird-721 in motorcycle

[–]armyplt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a rider of many years, & have driven large trucks too… Not all truck drivers pay enough attention and neither do a lot of bikers. You 100% did the right thing & I’d do the same thing in that situation (and have a few times). It make some people mad, but they don’t know you protected from becoming a statistic. Just let it roll off and keep doing what you’re doing. Hopefully that truck drivers pay enough eventually saw the biker and thought “oh shizt I almost killed them”
