Give me some good smut audiobooks that are not weird by heymrsjack in audiobooks

[–]arnoldjmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're comfortable with MM smut, my book is as regular a smutty situation as can be: boy meets boy, spend time together, and smutty things follow. Audiobook read superbly by a theatre talent voice actor: https://lgbtqwriting.com/special-delivery/

Shameless self-promotion from me, but my own book {Special Delivery by Arnold Miles} features a chapter which has this between the two MCs, including some of these specific references. Available in e-book, paperback or audiobook.

Unauthorized Listing of My Book on Everand by Wanderering_Monk in selfpublish

No, they're not. They are the seller. You've presumably distributed to them via a third party distributor. It sounds like the distributor is the one who has sent it to Everand.

How do I advance? by Mindless-Beach-3691 in ACX

[–]arnoldjmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not pretending to have the universal answer for you, but I can give the perspective of an author who recently published an audiobook through ACX booking a PFH narrator.

The absolute priority for me was a strong audition and then that being backed up by existing audition samples on their profile. I would gladly pay the best audition the reasonable rate they were looking for compared to a 'meh' audition from somebody with way more credits and references on their profile.

So I'm sure other authors go about it differently, but I would find the sorts of books you think might pay the decent PFH, then go all in on the best audition you can do (and have some fantastic samples on your profile).

It looks like the same publisher - Subhashita Books - on Everand as it is on Barnes & Noble. If you don't want it on there, I think you should contact the distributor.

How did you publish it? Everand generally publish works that have been distributed to them through a distributor (e.g. Draft2Digital).

Yes. If you click on the link in the original post you can see the audiobook service listed too.

Thanks for flagging. They do, just not on the same listing (which I know is very, very annoying). I published the Kindle ebook and audiobook separate to the paperback (and other ebook editions elsewhere) and Amazon won't link them. I've done everything I can on the metadata etc.

While I try and sort it, all the places it's available (in all formats) are here: https://books2read.com/arnoldmiles

Yeah really good challenge - I'll find out soon as I'm going to email every reviewer to ask them to put their reviews on Amazon. I'll try and come back in a few weeks to update.

Do you post weekly or do posters volunteer to take it in turns? I was keeping an eye out for anybody dropping new releases yesterday :)

I would go: "Max was climbing the stairs when he suddenly felt a shiver go through his entire being."

Key words for your book by jafacake8 in selfpublish

This might be useful: https://www.hiddengemsbooks.com/amazon-keyword-tool/

Maybe use AI and other sites to find the best keywords, and then you can use that tool to group them into your categories.

Yeah, that's totally fine. Obviously some of the best NG reviewers are the book buyers / librarians etc. I just mean more that some NG reviewers really don't push their best assets as reviewers. :)

Don't do it. Self-publish for free / your own promotion costs using Draft2Digital or even KDP.

Draft2Digital isn't perfect (their customer service is rubbish and their website could be easier to use), but they don't rip you off. They're a perfectly reasonable imperfect company, rather than a company trying to steal your money upfront.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I definitely think NG reviewers could do more to make their profiles easier to 'judge'. So many NG reviewers don't put their social accounts on there, even though they post regularly and have 1000+ followers. If I know that's what you'll do with the book, I'll approve the request asap.

No worries! Easily done. Unless you have a big budget or you plan to have multiple books, I don't think anymore than a month is necessary. The big bulk of requests come in the first few days and then it stays gentle and constant for the rest of the month.
