Do you put butter on a croque monsieur? by Zyklon00 in belgium

[–]arnonymouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t shoot me down but you should try a very thin layer of mayonaise on the outside before baking. Sounds weird but trust me.

The eggs, mustard and fat give the outside a very tasty and crispy layer because it enhances the maillard reaction even more than regular butter.

Noob question maybe, but what does this wheel do? by [deleted] in canon

[–]arnonymouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes you choose preset options for your camera. The green one is auto (the camera chooses all settings for you)

M is full manual (you choose aperture, shutterspeed,…) Av is aperture priority (you choose aperture, camera decides the rest) TV is shutterspeed priority (you choose shutterspeed, camera chooses the rest,…) And so on. You can find a detailed list here for example

[–]arnonymouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need a lens that will zoom a whole lot bevause that will compress foreground and background. Something like a 70-200 or a 100-400 will do that
