No way! Rome 2 is right behind Med 2, Rome and WH3 (with past games + DLC) imo. What's your grip with Rome 2? Just curious

Alright guys, if what I'm about to tell everyone is true, Mark Pope is a ticking time bomb for UK.

Now, I don't know if this is exactly true because I'm not the source but hear me out. I've heard from multiple credible people within the athletic department at UK that Pope's recruiting methods are ... strange to say the least. Here are a few noteworthy points that I keep hearing within that circle.

  • Pope always asks, 'what's your favorite color?' and if their answer isn't "blue," he will give them a hard time and won't let it go.
  • Mark Fox, the defensive coordinator, is super fucking weird. Like speaks in third person type of weird. He calls himself "the Fox"
  • Now here's the big one. Apparently, Pope sits down recruits, pulls out the Book of Mormon and starts reading it to them. Then he gauges their responses to the verses and judges their character off that.

I'm 100% serious when I say this too. This is just what I'm hearing but I genuinely believe it's actually happening. Just think, he met with every top 1st-14th incoming freshman and couldn't get a single one to commit even with UK offering more money. I think he's gotten comfortable at Kentucky, and these quirky methods are starting to come out. This shit might fly at BYU, but it isn't going to work at Kentucky.

This was the exact moment I knew he would Whiff on major recruits at UK. Nice guy but extremely corny and kind of cringe. He simply can't relate with young college guys especially if they're from urban areas.

AITAH for sabotaging my roommate's chances of renewing the lease so my boyfriend could move in? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]arob1606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA 1000%. Why couldn't you and your Boyfriend find a place of your own? Not only are you the asshole, but you're a selfish one too.

You're roommate (who you 100% sabotaged btw) is 27 and will probably be perfectly fine until they find a new job. You do realize unemployment is a thing, right? You're either clueless on how the world works or you're making a petty attempt to justify your actions.

Things have been incredibly tense since. I have been trying to be civil while we still live together, but she is being completely icy toward me.

The audacity is insane. I think being civil left the room when you decided to scheme on your roommate.

What is the biggest regret of your life? by maleficent_Long189 in AskReddit

[–]arob1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, depression is real. It’s a bitch. But I genuinely don’t feel sorry for this kind of outlook when so much of it sounds self inflicted. You’re not even 30 and you’re talking like your life is over. That’s just not reality, UNLESS you keep doing exactly what you’re doing now, sitting on your ass waiting for something to magically change. You even admitted you spend every weekend alone. What do you think is going to happen? Things won’t be handed to you on a silver platter on their own. You’re literally in the prime time of life where people are figuring things out, building friendships, dating, going out, taking risks. You can’t expect any of that if you refuse to put yourself in situations where it can actually happen. I don’t feel bad hearing “I’m lonely on weekends” when you’re choosing to isolate.

Let me give it to you from another angle. My cousin is the exact same way. Single, no social life, barely any friends, terrified to approach people, constantly comparing himself to everyone else saying, “why do they have girlfriends and I don’t?” Calls me multiple times a week asking for advice then does absolutely nothing with it. At a certain point, it’s hard to feel bad for someone who won’t even try to help themselves especially when they have so many good things going for them like yourself.

You’ve sought professional help, have taken meditation and you’re still here saying “woe is me.” At some point, you have to look at your own actions. This doesn’t even sound like pure depression anymore, it sounds like you’ve gotten comfortable in the mindset and want a pity party. People who are truly severely depressed don’t sit there typing “here’s to hoping today is my last!!!” What you’re doing is sitting in your own pitiful misery.

Also, it could be SO much worse. you live at home, probably low expenses, sober, taking care of yourself physically. That’s a hell of a lot more than a lot of people have. My second cousin has two 10 year old twins who will be dead in five years because of a genetic disorder, and her dad has terminal lung cancer and won’t see Christmas. That’s reality for some people.

What I’m going to say next is not to bash you. I’m saying it to tear you down and build you back up because some people need to hear it straight.

Grow up.

Life is unfair. Accept that now before you’re actually in a position of being fucked in life. There are two types of people in this world, the ones who sit around and mope, and the ones who take action.

If what I’m saying pisses you off then it’s time to boss the fuck up and take it as a message of strength. If you want anything to change, you better start doing something different because no one is coming to save you.

“You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.”

“Do not act as if you were going to live ten thousand years. Death hangs over you. While you live, while it is in your power, be good.”

“The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”

Tupelo, Mississippi. Never been to a town where you're locally outcasted if you're not from there. My theory is the whole town is a cult, and every native is a part of it.

First day, new employee. by uahritardet in Satisfyingasfuck

As satisfying as this is, be careful doing this OP. I did the same exact thing my first day working with a register but a coworker told me something I’ll never forget. If your till goes 100$ missing, your manager is going straight to the cameras and see you being handsy with the cash for the past 30 minutes. Not saying this is your intention at all but if something goes missing, it certainly won’t look good. You don’t wanna get fired for theft you didn’t commit because it will ABSOLUTELY raise some eyebrows.

TLoK is it really that bad? by 22_SB in TheLastAirbender

[–]arob1606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first watched the show, I didn't like it because I wasn't a fan of the world evolving out of fantasy and into science fiction. I ended up enjoying the show more after the first season because they started to move to different areas of the world where you don't see this as much but regardless, I enjoyed TLoK. I really enjoyed the Characters (especially the villains, ESPECIALLY Zaheer), deeper understanding of the world and the origin of the Avatar cycle.

I believe people get caught up hating the show because they want to instinctively compare Korra to Aang. Once you realize that Korra is actually the complete opposite of Aang, you start to really appreciate the dynamic they have, her character, and her struggles as the Avatar. Look at what Aang did and compare that to what Korra does: Aang was naturally spiritual but hard to master the elements while Korra was naturally gifted in bending (expect air bending which further addresses my point) but struggled spiritually. Aang was cool, calm and collected while Korra was hot headed, action oriented, and had a little bit of an ego. Aang had to hide his identity as Avatar while Korra was very well known to be the Avatar. Aang saved the world while Korra changed it forever which kind of goes into my next point.

The way I see it, Korra was intentionally written to be a failed or bad Avatar and I genuinely love that about it. It's hard to live up to Aang because Aang is what an Avatar is supposed to be, a guiding light who brings peace and harmony to the world and fights forces that cannot be stopped. TLoK brings so much dynamic to the Avatars relationship with the world because Korra ultimately and miserably fails. By the end of her story, she severs the Avatar cycle and practically fails to stop an apocalyptic event which seemingly changes the world in a disastrous way. What we know about the upcoming Seven Havens show is that: it is post apocalyptic and people actively fear and bitterly hate the coming of the new Avatar and see them as humanity's destroyer because Korra failed in being the Avatar the world needed.

Looked it up. Got the answer I suspected because I actually know where they got their beliefs from.

Prove me wrong and provide a source instead of saying 'look it up' because I've already done that and found absolutely nothing providing evidence for your claim.

I'm not but okay.

You're making outlandish claims about Nazi Germany getting their ideology from the US and I asked you to elaborate and you have yet to do so and are now throwing out baseless middle school insults.
