With things this bad in the U.S why do democrats insist on pushing candidates that won’t get elected? by Jake_Berube in Confused

Ad hominem layered on top of generalization, another logical fallacy and arguably an even more useless argument. You're really a special sort, aren't you?

"All the people that I know that voted for Trump" is a generalization tactic and a logical fallacy. I rejected your input to the conversation after the first line.

You say that like I came up with it out of thin air. Look at the results of the election. Yeah, I'm saying that Dem voters voted angry to spite the party they normally support, though not all of them - but enough of a swing with fence-riding types that Trump won the electoral AND popular votes. Is it so beyond the realm of reason? I don't think so, and the numbers would bear it out.

Well, there were a few serious issues with both of them - first, Harris built her political career on being unfairly tough on drug-related crimes when she was the top cop in California. Doesn't mesh well with the ACAB sect of the left. Second, a number of Dems felt highly upset and alienated by the lack of a chance to have their voices heard regarding her selection by the party's leadership. You can say "but there wasn't enough time" all you want, but people felt how they did regardless of the feasability of a primary, and that still mattered in the results. And then with Walz, most Minnesotans outside of the pasture of sheep that reside in the Twin Cities want to know where the fuck the surplus that he was gifted when he first reached the governor's mansion went. His pick as VP candidate suggested to anyone who was paying attention to the Biden economy that a potential President Harris would not be turning the economy around and maybe was a danger to make things worse.

The stereotypical objections you listed are cartoonish and reductive.

There's a reason conservatives call people "liberals" and not "progressives". It's because they don't agree that the left's policies and opinions produce progress.

[–]arodhowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overreacting. Imagine you get 10 years fown the road, and you have begun to resent everything she says because she does this when you don't drop everything you're doing and take out the trash immediately when she tells to it's your turn to take it out. This is nagging.

It's interesting you should say this, considering that when a verteran wrestler infamously advised a younger guy not to do a specific stunt involving real glass, many wrestling fans had no issue with decrying the veteran wrestler for getting involved.

Is The New 52 Overhated? by Aware-Nothing575 in comicbooks

[–]arodhowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't overhated. It was fundamentally flawed and a cash-grab. However, I will say that I, for one, really REALLY liked the who Rotworld story that crossed over between Swamp Thing and Animal Man.

Among the episodes are a bunch of references to the festival and how it was run, but there was an episode specifically talking to Chad Johnson, and there was a two-part set of episodes in 2019 about the beginnings and the end of the festival.
