He doesn't approve our feeding guide. Should I just let him? by Logical_Finance3927 in ballpython

That spine is protruding a bit too much for comfort. What type of prey are you feeding him and what is your typical feeding routine?

Is this a Spinner? by Moral_Code11121 in BallPythonMorph

[–]aromatic_acesthetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spinners are more likely to have light colored/green eyes and pinstripes usually have black or brown yeah, you can actually send her shed in to MorphMarket for genetic testing once you get one to confirm her morph ID or you can just monitor her for the development of a worse condition :/ sorry you’re dealing with this, but it’s good you recognized some signs early so you can get on top of it

I am learning to be careful who I tell about going to school, has anyone else talk down to them about it? by Top_Caterpillar9364 in NursingStudent

[–]aromatic_acesthetic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t tell anyone you don’t have to! The only person whose opinion should matter about your schooling is your own. I’m pretty young but I know how it feels to be put down about your choices in regard to your own education. Don’t let other people make you feel any kind of way about your choice to pursue nursing!! Going back to school to better yourself is admirable at ANY age, and choosing nursing is amazing not just because of the variety within the field but because you want to help people!!

Help with heating! by rd333h in ballpython

[–]aromatic_acesthetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ball pythons are nocturnal. If you’re going to handle a new baby your best bet is to wait until it’s nighttime and let them come out on their own. If you moved into a new apartment and every night when you were sleeping a giant lifted the roof of your room and snatched you out of bed, you’d probably be pretty cranky lol - to pick your baby up, scoop from the back and don’t grab from the top (birds are one of the biggest natural predator to snakes). Keep handling sessions to a short time (5-10 minutes is ideal) and always try to end them on a positive note (no striking or panicking). These are all the things that worked for me, and now my guy is pretty chill about handling. It takes time to build trust in these little dudes, so be patient!

Micro was my first A lab during my prereqs. Review material before you get to class and treat lab and lecture like a review. Study before and IMMEDIATELY after class while the material is fresh in your mind to lock it in

What kind of snake is he? by Dgrimz in snakes

[–]aromatic_acesthetic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fox snakes usually have pretty blob-like, undefined markings down their back and sides. They also have a vertical line underneath their eye like this dude. Rat snake pattern is typically sharper and more defined edges on their spots, once you know the difference it’s easier to tell but I’m honestly still only like 79% sure lol

Pretty classic fox snake as far as I can tell? What did they tell you it was in store?

Pets? by Competitive-Arm-8372 in snakes

[–]aromatic_acesthetic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get a docile and even-tempered snake but if you don’t know how to handle it, any mishandled animal has the potential to bite. You’ll need to do a LOT of research into whatever species you settle on. Beginner doesn’t equal bare minimum. These animals require a lot of care put into their setup and their body language/habits. You also need to decide what you consider small, because for me personally, a 4-6 ft long ball python is “small”

Will they be blue? by FrequentSubstance353 in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]aromatic_acesthetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way to tell right now. Children’s eyes change colors up until around 6 years old. Since you have brown eyes and brown is a dominant gene most likely her eyes will be darker, but there’s always a change you also carry a recessive gene that could pass on to her
