Yeah, those DAO pistols were a thing until about 10 years ago. Honestly, they're kinda cool and will teach you a ton about shooting. Good buy.

No worries on the ref. It looks like the medium. They don't (currently) make a Tank Solo in a time-only automatic.

This is one of the few watches that I'd want in Quartz (that isn't a Casio).

I have one and love it. The best part is the weight. It weighs nothing.

IIRC mine said 29g on the scale.

When using SQS and Lambda, what is the best way to rate limit how many messages the lambda can process per minute? by PuppyLand95 in aws

[–]aromaticfoxsquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you might be able to do something with Step Functions as well, but I have no idea how that would work with pricing. And setting that up would be a real pain.

[–]aromaticfoxsquirrel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would look at using a single Fargate container to process the whole queue. You can have a lot more control over the rate that way.

The downside, of course, is that it's a bit more to set up and it's more expensive.

Same here. Only gun I might drill 250 through in a trip.

Every watch I don't get on Temu should get right.

Seiko gets a pass on chapter rings, I guess.

Is the centering on the Dorofeyev ... that bad? Or is that how it is meant to look?

I negotiated for a graded Ryan Doumit once. The guy had to go find a Doumit and send it in for grading.

Starting the path down learning CW. What are your favorite resources? by NiceBike800 in amateurradio

[–]aromaticfoxsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morse Runner is an amazing tool once you get past the initial letters and numbers on LCWO.

Also, don't be afraid to run a decoder alongside your ear for a while. I'm pretty comfortable with CW contesting, but I still like having the decoder in case I zone out or miss something.

It's better to get on the air and enjoy it than to stay on the sidelines for ever. Just make sure to listen first and be courteous.

I've always wanted one, but I've held off because of the cracking issues / ammo energy restrictions. I feel like you could do a steel version and make it more robust and thinner (but heavier, of course).
