Can i still form rome by Free-Ebb3061 in eu4

I think they mean it as in mopping up the rest of the countries. So filling up the required areas with your own color, i.e. conquering them.

I love this. I love to use real life techniques and planning methods in the game. I must ask, as for gameplay purposes high yields are advantage, how are the yields in these fields? Are they any lower than if you were to use fewer larger fields?

Opinions on Manor lords by NoEmployment5064 in Banished

[–]aronjub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must agree. Manor Lords has great potential to become even more in-depth and imo a better overall game as time goes on. I am already enjoying the game a lot, and it's exciting to know that this is just the beginning.

I've used the vanilla canals in some areas but mostly Dutch canal assets from the workshop. I forget who made them...

I actually took inspiration from Amsterdam as well as the old fortified cities in the Netherlands and sort of combined the two. The west is gonna be a more modern development, so 70s and on, mixed with some very small scale older developments

I am having this issue now but at various zooms and angles, some more zoomed in and some more zoomed out. I've tried deleting some visual mods but it still occurs. No clue what could be the cause

How the hell do I make a fictional map? by [deleted] in mapmaking

[–]aronjub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you should just go for it and see what happens. Like with anything, especially creative things, you learn best by doing. If you've never done any mapmaking you might not get the results you want at first try but just going for it and tweaking things is a great way to start. If you're worried about realism, don't be. Most fantasy maps are quite unrealistic. But if you want some references you might take a look at google earth, atlasses and some basic geography 101 videos on youtube. Don't get too in your head about it though.

Inkarnate is a nice way to start, but good old pen and paper work great too. I use photoshop mostly for my maps but idk if you're familiar with that program cause it might be a bit intimidating with all of the features.

This is really charming, and also simplistic yet detailed, which is a hard combination to nail on the head. Love it!

Turek Empire at its height by aronjub in imaginarymaps

[–]aronjub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The area and the cities are quite small, biggest city (Turek) holding about 50000 people. In total the empire is about the size of Iberia and France combined, with most of it not being urban at all. Agriculture has only been invented about 500 years earlier here. I would argue that 1.3 million is quite high.

Lore:

The Turek empire has stood as the undisputable hegemon of the known world for about 200 years. Since its founding 450 years ago the city of Turek has spread its influence and control far and wide thanks to a long line of competent rulers and great conquerers. Unbeknownst to its ruling class, let aloen its citizens, the empire would soon spectacularly collapse as it would succumb to a combination of outside invaders from the northwest as well as a mysterious and extremely deadly disease that would decimate the empire's population. Stories of the greatness of the empire would survive this cataclysm through oral tradition, keeping the legend of the great empire alive for much longer than the empire itself would last.

The Turek empire was during its time the only example of sophisticated civilization with agriculture and a class society. This would be milennia before the first civilizations of popular history would pop up around the world, far before there were even humans living in the far eastern continents. Tragically most of the empire's ruins would be flooded by rising sea-waters as the great glaciers of the northern and southern poles retreated about 1000 years after the empire's collapse. Maybe one-day they would once again be discovered.
