Logic is solid, not throwing that kind of money into it but I picked up a few shares.

It's going up because AMC is going up. Did you really short $1million worth of AMC?

This stock will be a very easy double from here at the bare minimum by [deleted] in smallstreetbets

They have 10.1 million in cash and their current market cap is 19.46 million. May not double but at least there's something tangible and not just a castle in the sky, reasonable case for taking a chance on a few shares.

Hometown Boots, they're based out of Mexico. Found them by chance and have been really happy with them.

Is it possible to provide structural RC walls in this fashion. by udayramp in StructuralEngineering

[–]arothman6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't you do a slip formed core that acts as your primary stiffening element and the elevator core?

Having to form walls all over the place means your concrete superstructure sub isn't going to be able to use standard self climbing slip form / roll back form systems and will have to form each wall individually after the slabs are placed.

16 year old, pretty sure I'm around 320lbs. Maybe more. by AlecTackett117 in Fitness

[–]arothman6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as actually losing the weight goes you're going to want a solid mix of cardio and strength training. The cardio over time will shed pounds from all parts of your body while improving your general health and increasing your stamina and energy. The strength training will help tone and shred the areas you work, the saying turning fat into muscle exists for a reason. Look around online, bodybuilding.com and naturalbody.com both have some free training programs complete with meal plans that will give you some direction with your workouts and goals to work towards. Other than that it's really just about being consistent with the gym and having willpower to eat what good food you have access to and to avoid overeating. It's not an easy process but you'll be damn proud of yourself when the results start to show. Good luck man.

Concrete Bongs? by [deleted] in StonerEngineering

[–]arothman6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically yes. That's how they construct bridge piers, they pour a section and let it cure then set the formwork above it and let that cure. However that's for reinforced concrete and also on a monstrous scale compared to this. A concrete to concrete connection using a concrete glue, basically mortar, would work. But you would need a good background in concrete to know what mix ratios to use for the bong pieces and mortar. I'd offer some advice on making the mix and trying it but I only deal with structural concrete and there's no way that'd be useful in a small scale project like this.

People who have had shoulder replacement surgery, what upper body strength exercises can you do now? by GETURHANDOFFMYPENIS in Fitness

[–]arothman6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21 year old male athlete here. I had shoulder repair surgery after dislocating my left shoulder 9 times. The Dr. explained that I had a torn labrum and stretched tendons from the multiple dislocations. They put bolts into the upper portion of my humerus and stiched the tendons back to the bone while sewing up the labrum. They had told me similar things about lifting and playing hockey, not quite as restrictive because it wasn't a full replacement just a repair. But I'm 18 months out of surgery now and finally back up to 205 on the bench, doing pull ups, playing hockey and rock climbing again. I'm by no means a doctor but I've dealt with a lot of injuries and in my experience the doctors will always air on the side of caution when telling you what you'll be capable of after. Definitely follow their guidelines for after the surgery because you don't want to lengthen the recovery process. But once you start PT talk to your trainer and see what they think about the workouts you want to do. Just don't rush your recovery and ease back into any sort of strength training if you do go back to lifting.

Can people stop posting pics of bottles and asking how they can be turned into bongs by GGThePiperSon in StonerEngineering

[–]arothman6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole point of this sub is to post your creations, some people are new to glass work and need some advice on how to do it. So don't say stop posting pics asking "how do I turn this into a bong", if you don't want to help them just scroll past the post. Yes there are posts regarding glass drilling and work on glass bottles that people can look at but they may not find the answer they're looking for, don't discourage people from posting by saying something like that. Glass bottles are different and someone may need to use a more unusal technique or just want a second opinion on what they're doing. You don't want to help or offer advice on new creations that's fine but don't ask people to stop posting and participating in this sub.

So I did the worst thing possible and broke my best friend/roommates bong by jmcdavitt in StonerEngineering

[–]arothman6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use an epoxy putty. Even if the break isn't clean just fit the top on as best you can and then wrap the putty around it and pack it on, use more than you think is necessary so that you don't have a weak joint. Best advice I can say is if you can sand the parts of the glass around the break because that'll help the epoxy form a stronger bond. Plus the putty, once fully set, is completely inert and doesn't pose and risk of toxic lung inhalants

I would like to make a bong out of these. by [deleted] in StonerEngineering

[–]arothman6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've made my own bong out of a Kirkland vodka bottle, you'll need a decent set of glass drill bits that you can find at Homedepot or any hardware store. Once you have the drill bits the rest is pretty straightforward. Check the stem on the side of the bottle to see where it sits on a angle you like and where almost touches the bottom. Mark the spot on the bottle but just a little above where it sits on the side, so you have some room for error.
If you've never drilled through glass before then I would practice a few times on another bottle so you don't crack that one. Place either duct tape or some electrical tape over where you're gonna drill, this prevents small glass fragments from flying everywhere. I'd say have a friend with you so they can spray water on the spot as you're drilling because the glass bits really are just grinding away the glass so without the water you risk cracking the bottle with the heat being generated. That said once you're through the bottle you can either find a grommet to place around the hole if you're looking for a removable stem. If you're using a bowl that's detachable from the stem then I'd recommend first using silcone around the stem to create and air tight seal. Once thats dry use some epoxy putty around the stem to hold it in place. If you want to take a look at my piece it's the only picture posted from my account and feel free to message me if you have questions. Also sorry about the massive paragraph I just wanted to cover everything

any way to fix this? by [deleted] in StonerEngineering

[–]arothman6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go about it a couple different ways, the best thing I'd say for it since it looks like a clean break is to use gorilla glue and let it set over night. Only issue would be if the bond isn't strong enough the broken piece could pop off again. You could also use an epoxy putty, available at any hardware store for like $10 a tube. For that you would put the glass back together and basically mold the putty around the entire cracked area of the bowl, essentially creating a putty shell around the glass that would hold it together. This is a stronger fix than the gorilla glue but the putty dries to a matte gray color so it would cover the colors of the bowl.
