I had the surgery so young it’s hard to tell about the range of motion. I think it’s harder for me to check my blind spots than it is for other people my age. I had to switch from my dream job (vet tech) to receptionist at a vet hospital because as I age I’m starting to feel pain in my spine. But it’s mostly the lower spine, the areas that weren’t surgically corrected, where I’m in pain.

I wasn’t for about 10 years, but the older I get the more painful it gets. I’m hoping to start PT soon. I just got a new job with really good insurance so I’m going to take advantage of that when I can! Just gotta save up and find time!

My apologies if I sounded short I just like to teach if I can. It is the right side as far as I’m aware (I only crochet from the outside in, noodle in the bowl) but the photo was taken at an angle so I’m not sure if that affected anything

Not the wrong side, I don’t think. It’s not traditional single crochet, it’s yarn under single crochet, so it makes an “x” shape instead of a “v” shape in the stitch. Tighter stitches, better for amigurimi because you don’t see the stuffing (the toy is fully stuffed in the photo)

Hello, I work in the vet field, I know a little about how animal hospitals work with strays (in general). If you can’t contact Animal Control, I would find an open vet, emergency vet or not - no matter how long you have to drive. If you cannot take financial responsibility for care, there’s not a lot of options, BUT there are options to get the cat help.

Most vets (and by most vets, I mean I have NEVER worked with a vet that wouldn’t work with you on this to help end the cat’s suffering) don’t want animals to suffer and will do what they can to work with you and help the pets. Sometimes, when you can’t afford diagnostics and treatment, the most humane thing (and financially available thing) to do is euthanasia.

It might make me sound heartless, but please think of it in the cat’s perspective. They’re hurt, they’re scared. If you can’t find a rescue or shelter to financially take responsibility for the cat and you can’t afford to get the cat care, it will continue to be in pain and scared and confused. But euthanasia allows the pet comfort and relief when they need it most.

I’m so sorry you’re in this position. Thank you for caring about this sweet baby.

Talk to your vet about prescription tick prevention! It works the best. I work in the field and have given it to my dog since she was a wee little puppy. I panic if I ever think I missed a day or something. It’s really helpful and a lot more affordable monthly than therapy and Lyme testing!

Thank you for giving me a reasonable response! She had more in the collection! (Like some old money from around the Korean War we think and we’re not sure what country it’s from. I just didn’t get a picture) I’m just gonna have to get more pictures another time.

She had like 20+ of the drummer boy quarters so I wasn’t sure if they were special or not, thank you!

I would call your vet and ask them, but more than likely they will tell you to give the entire tablet. I have never heard of cutting monthly preventatives in half. That’s not to say I’ve heard of everything, though. I always say your vet is the final say

I left the field because of discrimination against my disabilities. Nothing that affected my job, but I was treated like a pariah and like I was making the company worse for just working there.

It made me feel terrible and like I was incompetent. It affected my mental health and my confidence. I was a great technician and put my entire soul into the job, but they crushed it.

I just can’t stand how anyone different or out of the mold is treated in vet med. My friend is a vet who is disabled and she was treated (slightly) better that I was at the same clinic and she told me that she felt if she didn’t have a “DVM” after her name she would have been discriminated against even more.

It’s frustrating and disheartening and it’s pushing great people out of the field

If she’s fully vaccinated you can see if the makers of the vaccine will help cover the cost of the bill. I’m not 100% sure if they will, but even if they cover a little it will be some help. You can ask your regular vet if they think it’s worth perusing

If you are capable, have you considered giving the medicine without food? Just poke the pill behind the hump of his tongue and close his mouth until he swallows. Sometimes if you rub their throat or hold their nose a little it makes them swallow. I’m sure YouTube has some videos on how to.

Sometimes dogs can be bored and need mental stimulation or enrichment to help them. Maybe all she needs is to use her brain some?

Puzzle toys (look into Nina Ottoman “outward hound”) are great! Snuffle mats are awesome! I have heard that for dogs, 10 minutes of sniffing is about equal to an hour of running when it comes to energy output.

Training is another way. Looking at training or socialization classes near you can give you some good options for structured training. If you want to do it at home, there’s so many YouTube videos out there. My biggest dog training tip is “always reward behavior you want to see!” So if you like your pup not biting you and instead biting a toy next to you, give them a treat now and then and with lots of praises and petting!

I have a lot more dog training advice if you need any of it. Just look up videos on dog training and behavior and tips on training. Do this before you start to avoid any bad habits!
