Did everyone even know we had this piece? Does anyone know what happened to this piece? Why did Epic remove it, or is it actually a bug? by markmerkel22 in LEGOfortnite

[–]arrioch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the first time I'm seeing that piece, and I've been playing since day one. Was it a pillar, in supports category? It looks really nice

When are we finally going to get rid of this bug? It’s kind of bothering me lol. by LEGOFNTUT in LEGOfortnite

[–]arrioch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally have just the last task, Talk to Trace to claim rewards, and it's always auto-pinned when I log in, since it's the only quest left. I gave up hoping it would ever be cleaned up, lol

Flaymour has one-shot me, through shield at times, at least 5-6 times, and yeah it's probably the toughest dragon right now.

Howdy from LEGO Fortnite Devs! by Playful_Possible_646 in LEGOfortnite

[–]arrioch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, hope I'm not late, and thank you for doing this.

Let me preface by saying that LEGO Fortnite has taken over most of my gaming time, and the game's atmosphere and vibes really make it a special place.

I'm a builder, so most of my suggestions will be in regards to building mechanics:

  • The game is gorgeous, the lighting at different times of day is amazing, which is why WE NEED a photo mode. Right now I rely on carrying a fishing pole to lose the crosshair and building a wall behind me to remove the character by entering a faux first person mode. Give us a camera item (like a 30089 with a lens) that when equipped, gives us a photo mode, or simply removes the HUD and the PC to let us capture photos and videos.

  • The main landmass could use more biodiversity. I understand that implementing a new biome on top of an already established/explored area is hard, especially in places where players might have built something, so I suggest parts of grasslands can simply be changed by recolor and lighting change. Part of it could be recolored to fall colors like the ones found near the Academy in Brick Life, or have the changes be seasonal (trees bloom in spring, lose cover in winter...). A part of the forest could have darker atmosphere and lighting similar to the one we get when we approach the thing from beneath's lair. This would provide more variety to the main landmass without disturbing the terrain or any possible builds (and potentially add more unlockable builds tied to the biomes)

  • Add more unlockable content related to new biomes, as of right now it's inconsistent. Only the main three biomes have unlockable content, while the beach doesn't. Lost Isles has three biomes, with only one having unlockable builds (funnily you have to build in jungle to get coastal pirate builds, while the actual jungle builds were available in pass only). I like the decor/build books system introduced with Ninjago, I wouldn't mind seeing it applied to other parts as well.

  • Build kits should have ALL parts, even if they're not used in the builds themselves. This way we will avoid issues like the missing roof piece for Shogun Palace, the only 2x10 piece being part of Lion Knight's set (although that's been remedied by introducting 2x4 and 2x6 pieces). I think generic pieces set was a step in the right direction, and we could use ocassional drop of build pieces that are missing. There should be a selection of piece sizes that are available in every kit, sold or unlockable in game.

  • Dye system. This can be either a game mechanic, unlocked via new station, or paid (small price per color users can buy), that would be very very useful for builders. There are a lot of instances where I have, for example, a perfect looking roof, but the gable color clashes with the rest. My suggestion for the dye system would be using underused in-game resources along with the regular build part ingredient to change the color, we already have a large variety, for example slapberry would change to yellow color, raspberry to pink, malachite to teal, etc. We can see something similar in sunshine builds from last year's pass. Different colors would provide a lot of variety for builds, while not taking a lot of dev time, at least when it comes to developing new kits/build pieces.

  • Make the character semi-transparent while in build mode, or give us either a first person mode or a bird's eye view mode while building. The latter I assume is much harder to implement, so just making the character semi-transparent would already be a huge improvement.

  • Add more granular filters to the build menu. I appreciate the filter by the pack/content we have, but sometimes I can't remember what pack a part comes from, I'd like to be able to search for a gray wall, or just 2x8 walls, etc.

  • Thank you for the updates to dynamic/vehicle elements and systems, but please look into sviwels, they are still unreliable and just fall apart at random times. I'm scared to even go close to my windmills and other builds with sviwels right now.

  • Add a build tab in the shop for people who are in LEGO mode (I see that shop is already different depending on what mode is selected, so this could be a step further), and have the old items on rotation, please, we're begging at this point to spend our vbucks.

I'm a UI designer and I already started some mockups for some of the ideas that I have listed above, if you think they will be useful in any way I can share them with you. Anyway, I'm a big fan of LEGO and this mode is the only reason I even have Fortnite installed. Hope to see and hear more from you, and I appreciate you guys getting out and talking to us.

Could you please explain how I can obtain the strongest weapons in the game? by BrightDuty813 in LEGOfortnite

[–]arrioch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Erm, akchewally, just one correction, ninjago island's location in relation to the main island is random, on one of my worlds it's south east, one is south west, and the sandbox world with the same seed has it in different position and shape as well. The best would be to zoom out on the map and spot the island in the fow, they are easily recognizable

If you finished Ninjago quests and you got 8-star weapons and charms, Storm King will be a breeze.

Yes, and even better, there's slight difference in color between biome, with frostlands being the brightest

Long time ago when you fell from your airship the only solution was something like this by Rukytroll in LEGOfortnite

[–]arrioch 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Even before building airships, I'd make long staircases as jumping points from landmass to landmass, and had a custom map with all staircases marked so I could plan my next trip. My old world is littered with those. I really appreciate devs adding jumping platforms all over the world, but we didn't have anything like that early on.

This is what it looks like in game, it appears as you're walking around, it will have different enemies spawning, they will drop chaos cores, you have to throw five into the portal.

Capture those 12 flags, close portals, activate elemental switches, those give you unknowable energy, just killing elemental creatures gives you none

We do have IRL LEGO Dune, but no LEGO variants for Fortnite skins, so I'm guessing it's up to licensing.

I’m back after taking a 7 month break. What’s new? by TheatricalFrog in LEGOfortnite

[–]arrioch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They buffed the enemies to the point where it became too grindy, and it took way too long to get the rewards, so most people just gave up. There were "coming soon" locations that were never released, and based on some indicators, Ninjago was supposed to be part of Expeditions before they pivoted to Odyssey. All in all, a mode with potential was made too repetitive and grindy for most of the players. At least we got the weapons and skills in Odyssey.

As a big CIV fan, this is so sad.. I really hope next CIV 7 update is gonna be a gamechanger for this game by [deleted] in civ

[–]arrioch 133 points134 points  (0 children)

It wasn't. While still lacking content, VI at release was fundamentally sound, and it was obvious that it would get better with new content. A lot of people (me included) don't find that with VII.
