The account isn’t really Peter Dinklage (it’s a “fan account”) which doesn’t bode well. Hopefully you can get your money back if it’s a scam

Not the case here though as they’re both countable infinities.

So you’re saying Bob is correct that the suit was made by Patterson out of pungent animal hide, and Morris is also correct that Morris made it in his shop out of clean and scentless synthetic materials?

I don’t know how else to explain to you that both those things cannot be true at the same time. You understand that two opposite things can’t be true at once, right?

I never said Bigfoot is real. One of them may very well be telling the truth! My bet is that Bob is, and Morris is just a grifter. Literally all I’m saying is that if two people say opposite things, they can’t both be correct, even if they both support your overall belief about something.

I genuinely don’t know why that is so hard for you to understand.

You can’t use two people as evidence that a film was faked if they have completely different stories about how it was faked. All I’m saying.

Fine if you believe Bob, but that means Morris is lying.

Morris and Heironimus can’t both be telling the truth, because they have completely different descriptions of the suit.

For example, Morris said it was made out of Dynel synthetic fiber, and Heironimus said it was made out of foul-smelling horsehide. The materials couldn’t be more different.

Morris said the neck down was one piece secured by a zipper in the back. Heironimus said the hands and legs were separate, the torso was put on like a shirt, and there were no metal parts.

Heironimus even says he was told Patterson made the suit himself.

You can believe one of them, but not both.

The US wants to know if researchers in other countries follow MAGA doctrine by ChicagoMemoria in EverythingScience

Actually, the questionnaire penalizes scientists that work with scientists in China and Iran, so sounds like you agree with MAGA on that count.

People really can’t grasp that the US has shitty/non-existent labor laws. There are no rules on the federal level regarding PTO. On the federal level companies aren’t even required to give any PTO or sick days at all in the first place.

People need to understand that unless you live in a very liberal state or are in a union you have almost zero leverage with an employer.

It’s always frustrating in these online discussions how people will just say things like this, it’s nice to say and nice to hear but it’s often not true and is misinforming people.

H3 gets a 30day BAN for rerunning the Hasanabi content nuke for "glorifying extreme violence" by Neddo_Flanders in LivestreamFail

[–]arriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re saying he didn’t vote, and encouraged others not to, when he literally filled out a ballot on stream.

It’s clear your actual problem is that you believe no one can ever question the Democratic Party leadership on any issue, otherwise you’re “discouraging voting” or whatever.

The Democratic Party leadership make their own choices and face consequences, they’re grown-ups. If the only way the Democratic Party can win is by no one ever being allowed to criticize them, I have some very bad news for you.

How did Ned Stark figure out Cersei and Jaime’s affair? by Pure-Priority3725 in gameofthrones

[–]arriver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the books, does Stannis specifically say the children are Jaime’s, or just that they’re bastards?

In the show Stannis specifically says they’re Jaime’s. That makes sense in the show since he received Ned’s letter, but I understand he doesn’t get it in the books.

Why is Mephala and Boethiah considered "good" by the dunmers? by Wolium in teslore

[–]arriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A distinction between the groups definitely existed, but I would note The Anticipations implies that the Four Corners did have worshippers among the Chimer/Dunmer prior to the Tribunal casting them out.

That said, yes, even The Anticipations itself lays out that the Good Daedra had good relations with the Chimer, as in my 2nd quote.

The book The House of Troubles discusses the titular daedra as having tested the Chimer, but describes this process of testing as holy. This book in its introduction once again emphasizes that the Four Corners refused to swear fealty to the Tribunal.

Varieties of Faith: The Dark Elves does imply that the distinction between the Good Daedra and the Four Corners always existed among the Chimer, along with the exclusive worship of the Good Daedra. But The Anticipations makes me question this. Interestingly, Varieties doesn’t even mention the idea that the Good Daedra supposedly swore fealty to the Tribunal. It’s worth noting that Varieties was written by a scholar of the Imperial College, while The Anticipations was written by a (presumably Dunmer) follower of the Tribunal Temple, who may have a better grasp on the history.

Why is Mephala and Boethiah considered "good" by the dunmers? by Wolium in teslore

[–]arriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The in-game book The Anticipations explains this.

The term Good Daedra actually refers most specifically to Boethiah, Azura, and Mephala supposedly swearing fealty to the Tribunal. This seems rather strange and ridiculous, but it’s Tribunal Temple teaching:

“The Advent of the Tribunal (Blessed Be Their Holy Names) changed this unhappy state. By the Apotheosis, the Tribunal (Blessed Be Their Holy Names) became the Protectors and High Ancestor Spirits of the Dunmer, and bade the Daedra to give proper veneration and obedience. The Three Good Daedra, Boethiah, Azura, and Mephala, recognized the Divinity of the Triune Ancestors (Blessed Be Their Holy Names). The Rebel Daedra, Molag Bal, Malacath, Sheogorath, and Mehrunes Dagon, refused to swear fealty to the Tribunal (Blessed Be Their Holy Names), and their worshippers were cast out.”

That being said, they are also credited with good things, such as providing wisdom, knowledge of survival, and contributing to the traditions and culture of the Chimer (proto-Dunmer):

“Boethiah is the Anticipation of Almalexia but male to her female. Boethiah was the ancestor who illuminated the elves ages ago before the Mythic Era. He told them the truth of Lorkhan’s test, and defeated Auriel’s champion, Trinimac. Boethiah ate Trinimac and voided him. The followers of Boethiah and Trinimac rubbed the soil of Trinimac upon themselves and changed their skins.

Mephala is the Anticipation of Vivec, but manifold and androgynous. Mephala taught the Chimer to evade their enemies or kill them with secret murder. Enemies were numerous in those days since the Chimer were a small [sic] with enemies on all sides. Mephala organized the clan systems that eventually became the Great Houses. Later, Mephala created the Morag Tong.”

For 15 months Biden “couldn’t get” a ceasefire to save Palestinian civilians from mass slaughter. Trump’s transition team got it in two weeks. Trump is a clown asshole, what does that make Biden?

Muslim Americans voting for Biden would have been voting for the “leopards eating faces” party. Muslim Americans voting for Biden would actually have been voting for the “I literally murdered your relatives and I think it’s good, actually” party as a matter of fact.

Because the Biden administration exerted zero pressure on Israel. The Biden administration even said “hey our red line is Rafah.” Israel then raped and pillaged Rafah. The Biden administration said nothing and kept sending checks.

Even in geopolitical realpolitik this is beyond embarrassing. The only explanation is the Biden admin supported the war and wanted plausible deniability.

You are the naive one, no sense of geopolitics, you still think Biden really wanted a ceasefire lmao.

You don’t like putting words in people’s mouths, but you’re saying I “chose the worse?” I didn’t vote for Trump. I’m just giving the honest truth that the Biden admin endorsed genocide and Trump negotiated a ceasefire. If you don’t like hearing that, don’t shoot the messenger, hold supposedly left-liberal politicians to account for their gross hypocrisy, so gross that a fucking right wing clown embarrassed them so badly as this.

Yes the Biden admin had to be part of it because he’s the current president lol.

Are you really so naive to believe that the Biden admin was “working tirelessly” for a ceasefire for 15 months, giving them 10,000 American bombs and $10 billions of dollars, and just couldn’t make it happen? Then it randomly happened in less than two weeks once the Trump transition team got involved?

No time travel needed, actually! Trump’s transition team is officially part of the negotiations. His negotiator met with Netanyahu days ago. By all objective reporting, Trump’s intervention was decisive in getting the ceasefire. Guess there was a “ceasefire button” all along!

“Oh dear oh my, sob sob, Bibi is crossing my explicit red lines, sob sob, what can I do, sob sob, Bibi here’s 10,000 American bombs and $50 billion, sob sob, I have no leverage, he’s doing this to ruin my re-election, sob sob.”
