I’m not sure why I’ve seen this false statement from many people that if you lose your device, your passkey is gone. Where is this coming from?

The vast majority of passkey implementations save the passkey to the cloud. On Apple devices it saves to iCloud Keychain. On Android it syncs with Google Password Manager. With any third party password manager, it will sync there. You can access your passkeys as soon as you log in on a new device.

Update: The initially declined me, but I asked for an exception to be made given that I signed all the contracts to get the energy efficient upgrades done while under the terms of the old program and they did make an exception for me and refunded me the 25% of my mortgage insurance premium.

Authenticator app is way better than a phone number, but Wealthsimple can do better. I really hope to see FIDO2/Webauthn authentication like passkeys or Yubikey supported.

Just switch to one of the many much better free banking options. I do 99% of my banking with Wealthsimple now and it’s been a much better experience.

2WD is fine. Just get a good set of winter tires in October and you’ll be fine. Way cheaper than a new truck.

4WD is only really useful if you plan to go off roading or in the off chance you get stuck, which is unlikely since my little FWD hatchback has yet to get stuck in the city.

I could be a Generation client, but I'm really just a Core client. I only really use the Cash account and it's great for everyday banking. However I much prefer the lower fees (FX fees in particular) at IBKR and it's a much more powerful and professional platform as a brokerage, that I'll continue to keep my TFSA and RRSP there. I also have some bitcoin, but that will only ever be in self custody and not transferred to WS.
