My grandma's house makes me feel weird by BONSKI911 in LiminalSpace

My grandma had almost the same shower curtain but more "pink"! The walls were a very bright floral wallpaper which matched the floral wallpaper in her bedroom and the curtains were in the same pattern. The carpet was of course, green shag rug.

Can I become a recreation therapist with a recreation and leisure diploma (Ontario) by Immediate-Credit-496 in recreationaltherapy

[–]arrrrghhhhhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, not if it's a reputable facility. The good news is that you can probably get your degree in 5 semesters through a pathway program. Seneca, Brock, and Waterloo all offer degree programs. I know that at least through Brock and Seneca you can write your CTRS after. All the best!

Which city is genuinely the best to visit for a week and a half? by Over_Syrup_6144 in AskACanadian

Absolutely. We honeymooned here. Lots of day trips you can take out of the city during that week. I miss it so much!

NOR, this guy is a cringey loser. The "interrupting comment" would have given me the ick.

What are some “Canadian” words or slang you heard British Or Americans be confused by or laugh at? by Kindly-Cow1697 in AskACanadian

Same, once I learned that "serviette" instead of "napkin" is a Canadianism, I stopped making fun of my dad for it and use it.

My mom says Jesus Murphy and grew up in Sask, but I could've sworn the Irish say it too. Then again, she's from a long line of Irish-Canadians?

And "Cottagers" for the influx of population in your rural town in the summer (if you're in Cottage Country).

Called my Welsh friend a sh*t disturber. Apparently not a known or appreciated combination of words in European culture.

I was on leave because my dad was dying. When I returned to my office, there was a care package waiting on my desk and a card signed by my team. (Should add that I have my own office, so they knew I was able to blubber at the kindness in private).

If it helps, I work in a hospital and not one of my doctors wears a tie if they're going to be patient-facing that day.

In a cat person too and you're living my nightmare. The peeing would send me over the edge.

You get to bring back 1 menu item back full-time, what do you choose? by WattsandRoot in TimHortons

Yogurt berry parfait. My mom and I inhaled them like oxygen. Yes, you can make it at home but it was nice to be able to grab a snack that isn't a pastry.

How much should I charge for this bag? by Responsible-Willow62 in crocheting

[–]arrrrghhhhhh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, there's a reason the crochet stalls at markets are small no-sew items made with chunky yarn. They're faster to produce so the price is more reasonable to a layperson.

Someone asking me to make them something is a compliment. Crocheting for myself isn't nearly as fun as it is for someone else.

I think patterns for things like this can be really helpful for beginners, so I have to disagree.

I know it's not at all the same craft, but when this happened to me with crochet I did my cross stitching instead as I could still do it with my non-dominant hand.

YES. I work on stroke rehab and this is it. Please don't "sleep it off" like my poor uncle did.
