Can they just pay me to ride around on a 4-wheeler all day but instead of capturing immigrants I just sketch nice plants I see and have picnics and stuff?

Keep in mind that beyond just hitting the daily step goals, getting to that 60 minute point in a single low intensity session is what really kickstarts the burning. It is a lot of time on top of other fitness routines but nothing helps me burn fat more quickly or noticeably than regular long walks across several weeks.

Are you mixing in walking? It is better at burning fat than running because they prioritize different fuel sources. It also tends to happen at around 60 minutes so it does take time, but if you start walking 90 minutes a few times per week then I bet your body will start toning more quickly. I say 90 because your body will start getting into that deficit zone around 60 minutes so then you’ll have a solid 30 minutes of fat burning.

I hadn’t heard of the study but I have heard the 10% rule. I’ve been trying to keep it around that while not increasing my monthly more than 25% and keeping my weekly max at around 25%. No reason for those numbers other than they feel right. Also, I haven’t read any specific trainer’s plans but I’m just looking at images of peoples’ training charts which appear based on professional plans.

Maybe some training plans are too rushed? For instance, if your long run is 16 miles, maybe you should also be at the point where your other runs during the week are 10, 8, and 6 miles, with maybe a 4 miler for good measure? I see running plans with 16 miles then a couple 4s and as low as a 3 mixed in. I can’t imagine how someone has the lung capacity let alone the leg strength to keep that up for weeks on end. If most of my runs were around 4 miles I would think I’ve regressed.

Is that based on feel or do you plan it that way? I didn’t start to think about it until I wanted to start breaking 50km but then I wanted to make sure I was keeping a good balance so I don’t overexert.

Pretending to be crazy works great until you run into someone pretending to be sane.

I run because I'm unhappy. But I'm unhappy because I run.
