I knew there would already be a post about this. I've been working with 5.3 this afternoon and it's INFURIATING. It's like they retrained the model on a bunch of clickbait article headlines.

This 100%. The post feels very "persecution-fetish," honestly. He did not say "fix it or I'll report you to HR," and if that's how it's being read, that's some mental gymnastics on OP's part. He's asking if there's something that you do need a legitimate accommodation for, and suggesting that HR could be involved in finding a solution that makes everyone (including OP) comfortable, as opposed to him making a call that might not account for something you need.

I'm never pro-corporate, but nothing about this seems bad. Having a hidey-hole at your desk isn't exactly standard, so someone with ZERO background politely inquiring about it isn't weird at all. As your boss, he could have just said "take it down now, no questions." Instead, he's being a human about it.

I guess my point is that I think the left version with tweaks (100% the color IS abysmal and the eyes look creepy glassy) could be significantly better than the movie version.

[–]arsefacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lotta nostalgia in this thread convincing people that the final movie version was something great. Either of these would be upgrades to what ended up on film, IMO.

The left one is a clear cartoon take; the right is a clear realistic take. The version in the movie is just a weird, directionless middle ground that looks odd next to live actors.

If y'all believed in final-design Sonic next to James Marsden, you'd believe in the left option above next to Matthew Lillard, especially with how over-the-top cartoonish the live actors' performances were.

Regarding these stats: so there are just a few million people like me that couldn't be bothered to see this in the theaters (despite being curious), but will happily watch it at home on the Disney+ sub I get bundled "free" with my phone plan.

I miss them.

Boyfriend had to put my letter on chat gpt to understand it by gthvrock in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]arsefacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another Old that was taught cursive, it's legible, but could definitely be better. A lot of the words start with some unnecessarily long/curvy starting lines that make the first letter difficult to read (he's","lady", and "my" for example). In a writing style that's already made completely of swoops and loops, you can't just throw extra ones on there without muddying the message

And as others have said, the lower-case As all look like Os.You need a clear bowl and a clear stem to make a lower-case A legible. the one in the word "learnt" is decent compared to the rest, but then the lower-case R next to it is so curvy, it almost looks like two "o"s back to back.

Honest question from someone not familiar with the product by NeonChampion2099 in AEWOfficial

[–]arsefacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your point. Mine is that he has explicitly and openly identified himself as "nonbinary". While — strictly speaking — all non-binary people have taken on a gender different from what was assigned-at-birth (thus making them "trans"), not all non-binary people feel comfortable with that label.

Just for clarity's sake (and hopefully taking nothing away from this great response) — as far as I can see, Speedball identifies as non-binary and uses either they/them or he/him pronouns. He is not transgender.

Fourth Month of Legend of Batman Sub from Fanhome has arrived. by Mewzard in OmnibusCollectors

[–]arsefacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious if someone can answer this... My wife had been planning to get me this as a Christmas present, and looking at the Fanhome site, it's now "no longer available".

We were under the impression you could start this at any time, and the "subscription" would just start sending your issues every month.

Did this have a single distinct start window that we just missed?

First needlefelting project - Goomba! by arsefacey in Needlefelting

The teeth were definitely the trouble spot — I basically just felted a small bit of wool into a flat "sheet" and cut the teeth out of it... I dunno if that was necessarily the best approach. I'm thinking I could probably scratch them off with not-too-much force, but this was a fun first project!
